    Wallabies v Barbarians - 1/11/14 (Twickenham)

Congratulations to Matt Hodgson on his captaincy for this match. By the way, has anyone noticed the similarities between the official photos of Matt and a certain negative feline?

    EOYT 2014

It was a fortuitous meeting but he was happy to have a chat. You'll all be pleased to know he was in the fresh produce section of the supermarket.

    EOYT 2014

Just ran into Scott Sio at the supermarket. He is nearly fully recovered from his injury and is on standby to fly to Europe during the tour if needed.

    Kurtley Beale

No but it's based on plenty of experience regarding scandals.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Spare a thought for me. Ten months ago I bought tickets to visit the UK and Europe to see the Spring Tour games. My enthusiasm has considerably waned in recent weeks (I have put my second national team as my profile logo) and at least I will enjoy the atmosphere at Millenium Stadium, Stade de...

    Japanese Super Rugby Team

Other way around. During the daylight saving period Japan is two hours behind, so 7:30pm in Japan is 9:30pm AEDT. When we come off daylight saving 7:30pm in Tokyo is 8:30pm in Sydney.

How to respond to the haka

Nice idea but the ability to do dump and burn displays died with the demise of the F-111. The A/B model Hornets and the new Super Hornets can still do an impressive low level noisy pass though.

There are pitfalls with a corporate team. I made a comment on the NHL thread on the ski.com.au forums about the Toronto Maple Leafs fans having a dummy spit at the start of this year's season and an Aussie expat living in Canada offered this explanation, which illustrates the dangers of making a...

    Ewen McKenzie Resignation

Nick Farr-Jones had a chat with Ben Fordham on Channel 9 this morning. It was very interesting in what he didn't say - no mention of the players' actions or Kurtley Beale as a factor in McKenzie's resignation. Apparently McKenzie hired the wrong staff and the ARU didn't put him on a tight enough...

    Wallaby Captaincy

I meant how McCaw conducted himself as team captain.

    Wallaby Captaincy

As far as I'm concerned the final nail was hammered into the coffin of Hooper's captaincy last night with Joubert's assessment on the field that he should be leading by example. That was the problem in Mendoza, with Hooper's ill-discipline translating to the whole team. Add to that his poor...

    Wallaby Captaincy

Which is the case for all good openside flankers.

Who has starred in the NRC

I think that what the referee said when he referred it to the TMO could also have been a contributing factor. He said words to the effect of "I want you to check the grounding" and if the TMO was focused on that he may not have seen that it was a Rays jersey beyond the yellow sleeve.

Who has starred in the NRC

Mitch Lewis has starred in the NRC, the first player in rugby history to score a try against his own team.

    Wallaby Captaincy

He is aiming to play in the Brumbies' opening S15 match on 13 February but it could be a week later.

    Wallabies v All Blacks @ Suncorp - 18/10/14

Anyone willing to bet on how long it takes for Simmons to 'earn' a lineout penalty?

    Kurtley Beale

What investigation? It's clear that Beale sent the offensive text and abused Patston on the flight from Joburg. Good one, playing this:

    Kurtley Beale

You have to choose your battles. Standing by a team mate who has sexually harassed and bullied an ARU employee is not the right battle to choose.

    Kurtley Beale

I think that Stephen Moore's injury was a greater disaster than it appears. Watching the Mendoza test the flaws in Hooper's captaincy became apparent and this sorry saga has amplified it. Hooper is a great player and with more experience and maturity will be a good captain but he was put into...
