    Southern Inland Rugby 2020

The crowd was about what we expected, but under what we hoped for. Thursday, Fires, School Holidays etc all made it a hard sell. I wouldn’t have counted more than 10 players/members from other SIRU clubs. Despite that it was still a great day and the two teams put on a real show.

Super Rugby Trial Rebels v Brumbies 23JAN20 Greenfield Park Albury 345pm

Thanks YMS, the timing hasn't been great any which way you cut it. However I think we are making the best of a bad situation. There will be some public announcements about direct support for RFS early next week. In the mean time though, we are basically getting the chance to watch 2 full...

No! More like one of Australias more revered coaches. Particularly in Canberra

    Southern Inland Rugby 2020

The scheduling is unfortunate, so we have tried to give everyone (in particular with SIRU) as much heads up as possible. The games are hosted solely by the Albury Steamers, so we have taken on a fair bit of risk. We are looking to rattle the tins and auction a couple of items, in particular...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2020

Just posting some info regarding the Rebels v Brumbies trial on the 23rd of Jan. There are a couple of good functions around that time as well. The referee/coaching clinic includes a dinner on the Wednesday night with the opportunity to mingle with players from both teams. Rumour has it...

Must agree, I think MM did a great job running the show. He brought his own style to the job and was well appreciated for his time and energy. The current lad is also doing a great job, and I think the transition to a newer style of administration reflects modern times. My only observation would...

To be honest, I thought calling the Aggies out as Boys after the game v Waratahs was a fair assessment. They looked spooked on the day. However, credit where it’s due, they manned up completely yesterday. They played better, and wanted it more than the Steamers. Bring that same aggression and...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2019

You can’t really expect the clubs to suddenly band together and help an ailing member out. The priority is and always should be your own club first. What if SIRU was to limit senior registration numbers per club? I fail to see the benefit of a club locking up 90 players for 45 playing spots...

    Fantasy Rugby 2019

We have resorted to the SportsDeck fantasy comp, which has decent prize money and it pretty good setup. I think it’s based on the AFL DreamTeam system. It’d be sweet if GAGR set up a group in there. Also we have regularly run our own $$ comp for many years in Fox, however we are migrating it to...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

Hey troops. Going back a few weeks, I was at the game where the Griffith lad up ended one of the Steamers and got red carded and 4 weeks. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. He did go over the horizontal, but it was a very gentle let down. At the time I thought Yellow but the Red...

Big result from the Steamers. Not sure about the state of the Phantoms but the Albury boys were missing Manion, Devlin and Macdougall and had a couple a key injuries during the game. I’ve heard on the grapevine that Blake Le Cornu has returned from injury bulked up and has raised his game to a...

No good regarding that situation between Leeton and a Tumut. I do like the ResultsVault App, however it’s going to need the support of the club admins to make it work. I had the finished result of the Griffith v Steamers game as 20-5 for quite a while, the Tumut v Aggies game is still 0-0...

    Foxsports Fantasy $$ comp

Don’t forget your Captain and Vice-Captain, everyone should know by now how to maximize those points. In other news we still have a couple of spots open in our $$ comp and our free comp
