Yeah Filth, Elias Power plays #7. He had last season off to focus on crossfit or something?? Very fit player. Was in and out of Prems in 2012. Another #7, Tom Hewitt from 2013, is also down at Crosby this year as he wanted to play with his mates this year. Missed the end of last season due to a...

Sorry I shouldn't say "not really worrying about the lower grades etc" I mean (the new) 1st Grade (old 2nd grade), will play in a Subbies type comp. e.g. maybe vs Everton Park, Pine Rivers, Brisbane Irish etc. Obviously splitting some clubs up on game day, which may be hard for those that...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

Certainly some confusion!! I think the QRU might pushing towards a 3 team Premier Club model long term and not really worrying about the lower grades etc? Premiers Premier Reserves Premier Colts Building a really strong competition for these 3 grades which will in turn be healthy for QRU...

    Reds 2014

23 players required - minimum of 3 front rowers on the bench. Bench make up will more than likely be: 1 hooker 2 props 1 lock 1 back rower 1 halfback 1 midfield 1 outside back Will be interesting to see what sort of impact these new scrum laws will have in relation to the make up of the bench...

    Reds 2014

Forwards - I have no idea about... except that when you have Quirk, Gill, Shatz, Browning and Robinson in your squad... thats probably the best back row unit running around in Super Rugby. Youth with experience and agression and mobility. They hate their bodies. Perfect mix. Backs - I cant see...

Yep there is a $200 + gst ARU national competition registration fee for each competitive team AND then the annual team insurance fee is $1790 for seniors, $1020 under 19s, $140 juniors. Seniors it's a reduction of $100 on the insurance from last year.... But the registration fee soon chews that...

FYI- Tony D'arcy has not been seen at Shaw Rd since round 18 2013. He is not a part of the coaching set up for the Eagles this season. Not long to go now!! Any word on the NRC?? Any clubs put in for a spot?? Sent from my mind......

OR OR OR a 10s series?? OR A QRU 7s circuit. Each (or most) clubs host a 7s tournament. Small entry fees to assist the clubs with the costs of running it. 12 team comps. Open to all 9 prem clubs plus a few others. Just let the boys play!! :) Sent from my mind......

    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

If it doesn't work out for us, why don't we look at some sort of origin type games to finish the season off?? Northside, Central, Southside. Play each other home and away and finish with a final at Ballymore?? Norths GPS Brothers Easts Uni Wests Souths Sunnybank GC Wouldn't take much to...

Agreed - franchising seems to be the only logical way this will work here in Brisbane, without destroying our brand (to steal a JOC (James O'Connor) line!) What happens if no club from Brisbane wants to (or is more likely the case, cannot) be involved and front up with the $$$?? No QRU teams in the NCC?

    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

Considering the amount of Reds and QRU boys involved in the Wallabies (not too many really), there will be plenty of talent running around in Brisbane to fill at least two teams surely? Along with the likes of the very talented club players who are on the fringe or involved in Aus 7s programs...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

And I think that might be another reason why the QRU aren't keen on the concept. Could create so many issues. Sponsorship wise, I agree, Norths cannot attract the sponsors GPS can at this stage, so what's fair?!?! Sooooo many potential issues!!! 3 franchises, run separately? Unaligned...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

Sorry, I should of advised clubs are meant to fund it, find sponsorship, put in all the hard yards, and then the players that play, may not be the players who have worked hard in that jersey all year. E.g. The criteria turns out to be top 3 QRU teams. So the players that put in their blood...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

Feedback I've heard was either a 22 March start OR 5/12 April or something like that. Will know more in the next 7-10 days once the possible Fox Sports deal is completed. Apparently the QRU are not overly keen on the concept. Doesn't fit in their rugby model. Which is completely understandable...
