That's right. There are many vested interests in the game in this country and not many of them align with the interests of the game in general.

Does anybody know Gleeson's injury status?

Who are the other THP candidates, out of interest?

I think the backs should be kept as they are and minimal changes in the pigs, other than Gleeson in at 7 if fit and the obvious replacements needed at THP. Let's give this line up a bit more game time to see what they can do together.

I actually mostly agree with you Bullrush. I think that Australian players have progressively had their creativity coached out of them. Our teams used to be considered among the most innovative anywhere and now we appear predictable.

I'm coming around to the idea of putting our best long term prospects out there in RWC23 and build for the long term. We couldn't really do any worse and in some cases it's time to draw a line under some players who have been there through a period of serious mediocrity. The guys we've got...

I hope EJ (Eddie Jones) is playing some sort of 4D chess because at the moment it looks like he has absolutely no idea. Nothing I've seen so far has changed my initial reaction when he was hired that it was a terrible decision. At the moment he's all talk.

I would agree with that. All of them excellent refs. Let's hope they handle beyond the quarters.

I'm zen about it because this line up is a potential preview of Wallaby teams post this World Cup. A few blokes could make a name for themselves here.

I don't mind that side and the pack certainly is massive. The breakdown is going to be interesting, because the Kiwis have gone the opposite way in terms of picking athleticism over size. The backs are exciting though.

For mine there are questions around our locking combo, our 6 and 7 and our best outside backs combo, as well as how right are Cooper and Kerevi. Compared to other RWC's this is one of the most unsettled squads I can remember.

I think that's right. Successful RWC teams seldom have the level of uncertainty around selections we have right now.

Carter starting at 10, don't hate it at all.

Sorry, what? Kellaway is massively smarter footballer than Wright.

He's certainly rapid for a bloke of his size. I've said it before that I want us to try him at 7, if nothing else to settle the argument about his suitability to be an on-baller. He's in my match day 23 regardless

Completely agree. As grim as things look now, the 20's programme over the last few years has produced some good to excellent players, the A side being back up and running provides elite level game time and the hook up with Japan means that our boys get to do more of what they need: playing footy...

I expect there will be a generational change after this RWC and it's needed.
  18. The_Brown_Hornet

Exactly. There's being 'ard and there's being stupid. Swain and Swinton are in the latter category.

I like it. I think it would be good to expand it and allow automatic Wallaby eligibility for any Australian playing over there too.

Looks that way. I think we need to find out if Langi is up to it at 7. For mine he definitely goes to the RWC, but the question is in which position.
