July Internationals 2023 - matches not involving Australia

Saw that hit from Farrell. Good lord, the bloke never learns does he.

    Shute Shield 2023

Randwick vs Gordon was a wee ripper today. Tense all the way through and proper tough finals footy.

    Wallabies 2023

After letting it sink in for the last 24 hours, I have to admire EJ (Eddie Jones) for his daring. There are a few head scratchers but seen in the context of having a crack this year, but more to the point building for the future, this squad starts to make a lot of sense. I'm stoked for the young guys and hope...

Went out for a couple of hours and saw the squad when I got home. Bonkers. Absolutely bonkers.

    Wallabies 2023

Oh yeah, our first choice 23 is decent. It just won't be enough to go deep into the tournament I feel. I'll be stoked if we do though

    Wallabies 2023

Yeah seriously. Deep down I reckon Eddie knows we are nowhere near close to winning this thing. He has to say otherwise publicly, I get it, but does anyone actually believe it?

That's where my head is at.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I hear you. I didn't go to a private school and played club footy, as did several of my state school mates. It so happened we had a club in our local area and consequently recruiting kids wasn't super hard. The nearest league club was several suburbs over too, which helped. My kids went to...

Well it's hard to argue with Bobby V on that.

    Rugby World Cup 2023

That Bok backline looks pretty thin without Pollard and Am.

    Western Force 2024

    Noice!

    Wallabies 2023

If Tate is the starting half back then I'd be happy for him to be skipper as well. He does it for QLD after all.

    Wallabies 2023

I have a sneaking suspicion that Hooper's calf may rule him out and I don't necessarily think it's a catastrophe if it plays out that way. Wouldn't break my heart to see McReight with the starting 7 jersey on his back and have Gleeson or Samu as the back up.

    Pasitoa is not a QLD'er

Would agree other than France. They're definitely my second team.

So who on the injury list do we think is a realistic chance of making the 33?

    Wallabies 2023

I just think it's great we have several young and exciting playmakers coming through the ranks

    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

The silver lining this test season has been emergence and selection of some fine young players, some of whom have either stepped up or confirmed their billing. Bell, Gordon, Kellaway, Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase), Hooper, Petaia, Faesler, McReight are all blokes you can build a test team around.

Well at least the trend is in the right direction. Each game the team have played better. It's unlikely to be enough to do a great deal for the RWC but the medium term is looking more positive with some of these young blokes.
