    Waratahs 2020

I'm not too worried about the "Spine." Fitzpatrick started most games last year, Gordon is no slouch, Beale could be a worry but he has played for the Wallabies there and all franchises are like us and are banking on young guns to step up, and Maddocks at 15 will do me. Depth might be an issue...

    Waratahs 2020

True to a point, but I think that a new HC could be a positive based on what we had. Time will tell

    Rebels 2020

Wow that's a revelation. Their jumpers were the most boring ever. Black and gold would have made more historical sense and been more attractive.

Aus Super Rugby players to watch in 2020

I'm most looking forward to seeing which 10 steps up if given the chance. Deegan and Lucas could go all the way and Lolesio impressed at NRC. Throw in Pasitoa and Keunzie as well as Harrison and Mason and there's some handy players. Also, from the other franchises I think McRieght, Wilson...

    Waratahs 2020

Yes. They train with main squad then play for clubs on the weekend. All players not in the game day 23 play for clubs unless injured or being rested
  7. Silverado

    Reds 2020

That's not true. They did it badly by leaving it until the end, but they complied. You obviously missed the Sunwolves game in Newcastle when they tried to rest too many at once and got beaten. Also, it was one Waratah supporter...

    Reds 2020

While I agree that Coleman and Phillip would have been good pick ups, the players do make the decision of where they go. The vast majority followed their coach in a reverse takeover of the Rebels due in part to a (Justified) chip on their shoulder that the other franchises sat on their hands

    Reds 2020

Totally agree. In the lock position you have Rodda a a lock (excuse the pun) and Hockings and Blythe as genuine contenders. The back row is a log jam of amazing talent with quite a few possibilities with LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) not being one of them

    Rebels 2020

Good point. He would have been behind DHP and spent most of the time on the wing again, whereas at the Tahs he would be expected to play at 15. I still scratch my head about how he began last season as the leading try scorer and ended it by not being selected for the Wallbies when they clearly...

    Waratahs 2020

Great news. What are the implications of him being in the 7s program?(ie will he miss any part of the season)

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I drove past Allianz Stadium on Saturday. It's just an empty site with no sign of construction so could be a while before the Tahs have a home ground. Being from a regional area, I'd love to see more regional games played. This year will be interesting as they play games in Newcastle, Wollongong...

Gosh that's some back row depth. All very young too and most on lengthy contracts.

    Rebels 2020

I still say Donaldson is a more promising prospect at 15 and more what the Rebels need if Maddocks leave
  15. Silverado

    Rebels 2020

Agree. But I think Donaldson is a good 15 option and where the Rebels would be looking to use him now. Makes more sense as a swap for Maddocks who I beleve is a 15 not a 10
  16. Silverado

    Waratahs 2020

Dalton will be under 20s this year. Of the others I think Harrison and Nawaganitawase are likely to get runs this year whereas Donaldson is on a development contract and might be interested in securing a full squad contract, so most likely. He'd be a good pickup for them if that's the case

    Waratahs 2020

You could be on to something BR
  18. Silverado

    Waratahs 2020

No. He injured his Achilles in a trial in Feb and on his return in March/April was behind Kepu, Talakai and Cody Walker and played most of the year for Southern Districts in the Shute Shield
  19. Silverado

    Waratahs 2020

He was learning from Kepu and didn't seem to pick much up. (He knows what it takes to be a winning Super Rugby player) Robertson is no slouch either. Vui was with us for 2 years and didn't show enough to be re-signed. Happens a lot in professional sport. I wish him luck, but I just think that as a THP...

    Waratahs 2020

You're probably right BR. With Kepu's departure he may of had a chance. Mind you, any other franchise would offer a front rower more opportunities than he'll get at the Brumbies
