Big call. He may be correct in the long term but a couple of years is a bit soon. He struggled in the scrums against the Reds. He's only a pup so plenty of time to work on that, but it might take a couple of years before he's even a starter.

Tough first gig for the Tahs against the benchmark in Super Rugby. They looked pretty good against the Highlanders, but exposed by the Reds in the trials. Looks like they're trying for a more expansive game, but handling will have to improve if that's the game plan

Are there still issues with air quality? Canberra airport was shut last week due to smoke haze. I'm hoping it goes ahead because I think these 2 will be duking it out for the Australian conference

Yes, I agree. Was just pointing out that we have a decent spread of wingers. If Maddocks goes to fullback or sevens we have good backup without the need to bring in a foreign player

Depends where they play everyone. Maddocks, Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) and Beale are a handy looking back 3 with Newsome and Clark decent backups

I think it comes down to having the best leader at this point in time. I like what the Australian cricket does where they annoint a future captain to work with the incumbent so that they are ready when the time comes. Simmons has a lot of experience and respect. Hopefully one of the others...

Ideally a flanker or halfback for me. Close to the action and the refs ear. A tight forward has their head in the scrum and and an outside back is too far away, but I suppose you also need a loose forward or 9 who's up for the job

HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) played Oz Schools and under 20s at THP then switched to LHP in Super Rugby because there was a vacancy at LHP. Robbo has filled the job well in the past but I suppose it came down to size and who the coaches thought was the best fit after preseason scrums

Only once for me. I was going through Lymphoma when CCL beat Leukemia. His recovery was unbelievable when you consider what is involved to beat it. We are truly blessed to have the care we are afforded in this country. Hope you're in the clear now BR:)

I think it was hard to shine with the team he had around him, but on the flip side it was easy to shine in a Force team that was dominant in GRR and NRC

40-21 win after being 14-0 down against Highlanders. Only a trial, but some of the youngsters looked really good
