Wallabies v Portugal, RWC Pool C, Mon 2 Oct 2.45AM

And maybe a meteorite would wipe the Fijians out and we would be coopted to take their place?

Kids as young as 10 (or rather their parents) get financial inducements to sign up for an NRL club.

    League Targets

Buildcorp used to put a lot of money into the game, selectively. Not sure if they still do.

We can do both. Given the lacklustre performance of some of our best players, who can really say that we don't need a transfusion of talent. If Crichton turns out to be a top notch 12, I for one will be very happy. No doubt Twiggy will, too.

Blow it all up and start again.

My thoughts about Eddie and the Japanese: Eddie understands Japanese culture far better than most of us, and he has managed to do some work there between seasons. Keeping lines of communication open is always the sensible choice, maybe the polite one.

A pretty easy bullseye to hit. But the point they make about the kids who play rugby at private schools and end up in the NRL kind of misses the point. Kids like Kalyn Ponga were never going to play rugby (not in Australia, in his case), they were on scholarships paid for by the opposition...

    RWC Pool C - Australia v Wales - 5AM 25 Sep AEST

Very interesting to get something from sombody who was actually there. Our attacking shape is one thing, but our defensive shape against Wales looked worse to me. More holes than a mosquito net (just for Brisbane!) The Welsh seemed to sail though whenever they wanted to.

First premiership for 23 years???? Great for Australian rugby???? You'll have to explain that to me.

Gentlemen? Which club has "gentlemen"? Eastern Suburbs, I suppose. Count me out.

Gee, that's an idea. Is it really feasible do you think?

Gotta to spend the money on something, eh?

The money thing is arguable, the story is that the funds for the kid are private money from some rich geezer. Mind you, it would be better if the geezer put the funds to use buying (or retaining) some big strong forwards.

No doubt you understand that Newscorpse have been death-riding Rugby ever since Foxtel lost the rights?

No matter how well Rugby Australia performs, the two domestic sports are well ahead on every metric. Apart from anything else, in every game they play, an Australian team wins (except for an occasional win by the Wahs).

    So did the Fijian 12.

    Shute Shield 2024

Well we need a 12 for sure, Kerevi looks over the hill.

    Shute Shield 2024

I'm sure that's very nice for Randwick, but doesn't mean much for the Wallabies. We need some big forwards, and we need them now!
