well it actually goes well beyond that hugh, where UWS money is from the universities direct budget, much of the investment that USyd have in their rugby and university sport from my understanding comes from membership fees, SSAF and contributions to a much greater extent than possible out west...

especially with the commercialisation of the uni scector rugby should capitalise on the potential sponsorships each ande very franchise, rep team and club can have with uni's. I know UWS are now sponsoring both the GWS giants and WS Wanderers as well as an established link with the penrith...

bond just announced their latest scholarship which is for ruggers and includes a years mentorship with John Eales, also fairly sure a while ago they were made the "official" tertiary educator for australian rugby or some weird stuff like that. You're right it would be a good idea to get them...

    S18 on its way

we're getting to the point the super rugby championship needs to level down to a heinekin cup style champions tour with local competitions encompassing the pools that feed it. Once SA have 6 teams its the same amount of teams they have in the top tier of the currie cup minus the...

    NZ Super 15 Teams

I dunno about you guys but other than the highlanders (they could have included a tartan pattern on the sleeves or something) I think these jerseys are cool. Not classic of course and I think there should always be a classic one and an outlandish one but they're interesting and eye catching.

if you're to split the west into ditricts and try and etablish it in sections there's actually 5 areas in the western suburbs, maybe 6, so you're going to exclude the parra region, penrith region, hawkesbury region, blacktown region, bankstown region to have two teams, one based in the hills...

No More Pink Thanks. Bulls Go Camo.

old trend, I have the British armies pink camo jersey, that's the best of both worlds!

Quick hands, I applaud your dreaming, but I think from a business case you are wrong and the a-league model has proved itself. I do think you need to target alternative options, but I think the whole comp is that and you need to make that strong first. all the cases you cited already had a comp...

also don't forget western sydney on socio-economic lines is actually more of a line that cuts south east from the edge of the hills district. down in front of canterbury bankstown. I don't think its viable to target campbelltown or something like that, it would be smarter to invest in...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

I was just thinking the capability of this competition would be to try and spread some of the geographic and socio-spread of rugby. given funding and time with good management (which needs to be focused on heavily as the FFA have done with the a-league) any team can be successful, but I see your...

    Wallabies team name

I've always thought it would be a great marketing idea to have a heavy campaign on not renaming the national side, so the wallabies get a new sponsor who say "no, we're going to be sponsors of the national side and call them just 'the wallabies'" and run a whole campaign on that.

The beginning of the end - AFL has stormed the ramparts

late reply as Ive been active in other things and just recently rechecked all the forums. Fr Middleton (at aloys - first article) is an adelaidean who never much liked many of the traditional co-curricula of the school, saw rugby and cadets as violent things and was very passive aggressive...

    Kooga now BLK?

Kooga UK is much bigger and have been around much longer as well as Kooga Australia being successful on their own, still not a great rebrand if they do it fully.

    Where is JON hiding?

    Rugby expansion

I think super rugby expanding into the US is stupid, only place it should expand is argentina though we could use us players. Super Rugby should slowly split into the conferences too, with super rugby as the henekin cup.

And I thought our 7s uniform was bad...

I was lead to believe it wasn't actually adidas even though it was three stripes, it was a now defunct australian brand.
