Australia A - Back on the Cards

It would be interesting the see the teams selected initially with all players considered, then remove the injured players and put in the actual team that will be available. This way we can see the real pecking order for players in the selectors eyes.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

So it will be like an injury ravaged season? People will still watch the game, If the Reds had 15 rookies next season I would still watch every game. I support the team, not the players this way when a player leave or arrives I am ready to get behind them.

Australia A - Back on the Cards

How long is Blyth on a contract for? I would be surprised if he does not chase cash overseas after missing out, the chances of him being a Wallaby now are pretty slim so he may as well look after himself. Now I may have to choose a new second favourite Reds player.

    Reds 2023

It depends on the deal the team negotiates, I am pretty sure when the Rabbitohs moved to the Olympic Stadium from SFS they would theoretically make as much money with a crowd of 1 person as they would with 10,000 at SFS, they were paid a fortune to change locations. I would imagine Lang Park...

The renaming of the "Cook Cup" decision

So picking a player because of who his parents were is the important thing? Why can't Ella be picked because he was a bloody awesome Wallaby? Picking someone because of their race does a dis-service to there skills on the ground. If player background is important then I would prefer Jim...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I have never played fantasy football, maybe this is the key, RA and NZRU put together some ridiculously lucrative fantasy competition that all sports fans would want to play and maybe the ratings would come to the sport. Maybe it is an untapped marketing tool, maybe a big cash prize each week...

The renaming of the "Cook Cup" decision

The problem with naming it after players is that it ages relatively quickly to the point where many supporters are either not aware of who the trophy is named after or wonder why a particular player was chosen when others may be seen to have been more deserving or have had a greater impact on...

Kerevi would be a massive gain, and when he plays he would certainly improve our chances but would the temptation be to play "Kerevi Ball" and just have him bash the ball up every possession we have? It is certainly an effective strategy but how long can it last before injuries or wear and tear...

The way the season runs also highlights the poor performances against the NZ teams, multiple losses in a row stands out where as losing every couple of weeks does not feel so bad.

I would think best in Australian conference and 2 wins against NZ teams while being competitive against the teams that beat us.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

maybe a filler from Australia for the half time then, post COVID we are used to poor quality crosses to Skype etc. It couldn't be too hard to get an Australian to give 10 minutes of thoughts on the first half or run a preview of something Rugby related.

so they get money for click bait?

    Wallabies 2023

I don't think we take enough shots at drop goals, surely rather than taking 50-60m shots at goal (allowing for angle) we could kick for touch, win the line out and then field goal off the first pass. Australian rugby does not try field goals enough, last night on a couple of occasions the Reds...

    Crusaders v Reds 3/06/22 - QF1

Maybe they accept reality, did anyone really believe that the Reds would actually win? I think some think they had a chance, but it was a very slim one that probably relied on a couple of Crusaders players being given cards. Obviously I wanted to see them win the game, but if they had lost by...

Maybe he was given a choice and did not want to play? If he plays 7 meaningless minutes he risks injury and worst case scenario he misses a big contract.

I doubt one player is going to send them broke. I think it is good for a young player to get a taste of an overseas trip and to experience the preparation for a big game. I can only see benefits to this.

Purely talking about results against other Australian teams for the last few seasons. The Super AU part of the season.

    CruSadists v Reds 27/05/22 at A.R.S.E.

I doubt the extra lap would have a physical difference, but knowing you have worked harder than your opponent may have a sports psychology benefit.

Totally agree, I hate to bring League into this but I recall hearing Andrew Johns talk about how he got so good. He talked about how he would try to work out what his opponents did and then do more. If other goal kickers kicked 50 practice shots after training, he would do 60, if they ran 10...

I agree that our skills are just not up to it, and he does not seem to be adaptable in his game planning. The difference is that a lack of skill can be overcome by dogged determination in Australia. You know that the other Aussie teams will eventually drop the ball or make some other mistake...
