France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Yes but you wouldn't rest them all at the same time, the coach knows he has to rest them for the 2 or 3 games and he works out his roster around that like he would with injuries.

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

This is why players should be rested during super rugby. Playing for the Wallabies should be the pinnacle and we should always play our best team (B team vs Barbarians). If Hooper was forced to sit out 2 or 3 Waratahs games we wouldn't be discussing this.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

You never know Cheika may even want to start Cooper to give him some game time which he is lacking. Same with Douglas, Mumm, Naivalu etc

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Would love to see Genia in for Phipps and McMahon for Pocock, they would be great in's. Really not impressed with Speight, and Naivalu hasn't looked that good off the bench, albeit limited opportunities. I know he is not in the squad but does anyone else think that Morahan would be a...

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

I guess the one to compare it to is Digby. If Digby absolutely carves up for the Crusaders then will or can the Wallabies pick him?

    November Internationals not involving Australia

So NZ play Ireland in USA and USA play Tonga in Spain, talk about random. Why can't NZ just play USA in USA, they are still quite competitive?

Pumas vs Wallabies - Sunday 9th October @ Twickenham

Most people seem to be in agreement on most selections and it is only a few up in the air in the backs which I think is a good thing. We are close to settling on the best team. Moore has also seemingly found form so people have stopped calling for his head. 1. Sio 2. Moore 3. Kepu 4...

    Springboks v Wallabies - Sunday 2 October 1am AEST - Loftus Versfeld

McCalman is still a good option. I believe he is still underrated as he goes a bit unnoticed over in Perth. He has come back strong through the NRC and Cheika seems to like him and he still has a good few years left. A backrow of fardy, hooper, McCalman has a good balance with timani on the...

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

It is almost as if Cheika's thinking is "we are not playing the all blacks this week so we will be better" eg DHP defending on the wing will not be an issue because SA will not exploit it like the All Blacks would. We will probably get a couple of wins against SA and Arg and paper over the...

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

    Give this a crack 9. Genia 10. Cooper 11. Hodge 12. Lance 13. Folau 14. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 15. DHP

    Wallabies v Springboks - Suncorp, Brisbane, 10th September 2016

I really think our winger depth sucks and although wing is probably the least of our issues what is the status of these guys? - Mitchell (is he available this series?) - Speight (I see he played NRC, is he ready?) - Naivalu (Is he eligible? if yes get him in there) - Nayaravoro (Where did he...

Bledisloe 1 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, 8:05pm

I know Chek preferred Genia to Phipps in the world cup but I think he will go with Phipps this time as from what I have heard Genia just hasn't played enough rugby lately. Also DHP surely has to start. A lot of people seem to be just assuming all the foreign based players will come straight...

    The Wallabies Thread

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we are taking about George Smith again next year as a contender for 7/8. The guy will not just make up the numbers

    Western Force 2017

A few rumours going around - Bill Meakes (ex sevens, U20's and Gloucester) and Ben Daley

    Western Force 2017

This is another issue. Due to satisfying the TV audience the majority of games are too late for families. There is normally about 1 game a year that kicks off at a reasonable hour for young kids, the rest of them kick off at 7.30. They should have more Saturday or Sunday afternoon kick...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

Have just finished watching the game and my god I have never seen a number 8 so bad at controlling the ball at the back of the scrum, he just looked awkward and like he had never played there in his life, even the ones that didn't spit out the back he kicked them back in to the front row or out...

Wallabies vs England, Sydney, 3rd Test, 25 June @ 8:00pm

I would like to see a few changes this week, see how hungry these players are and give them a shot. Slipper (C) TPN Kepu Simmons Coleman Fardy Gill Houston Phipps Foley DHP To'omua (is he ready?) Kerevi Naiyaravoro Folau Holmes Moore Sio Horwill Hooper/Palu (or both and no Lilo or...

Wallabies v England, Sat 11th June, 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

no one has really mentioned Horne as a possibility to play 12? He would fill the crash ball role nicely and has great defence. You could then counter this by having DHP on one wing and Izzy at full back to inject themselves into the line and take pressure off Foley.

Wallabies v England, Sat 11th June, 8.00pm, Suncorp Brisbane

The conservative (likely) option I think would be this: 11. Horne, 12 Lilo, 13 Kuridrani, 14 DHP, 15 Folau The riskier option would be this: 11. Horne, 12. Kerevi/Kuridrani, 13. Folau, 14 Nayaravoro, 15 DHP Would love to see the 2nd one.

    Western Force 2017

    1. QLD have signed Houston so the Force should be targeting Browning, Shatz etc for more backrow depth (cottrell has not really progressed at #6 this year) 2. NSW have signed Naiyavoro so the Force should be targeting their wingers. Plus the Rebels seem to have a surplus of outside backs that...
