    Waratahs 2018

Mate I completely agree. Hooper is an absolutely incredible player and the best 7 in the world for mine (ahead of Pocock). How about this comment from the front page from a fellow named idiot savant: "I can't help but think the 'Hooper thing' is a factor. How many times in the last 2...

    The Wallabies Thread

I'll fall back to my "almost any" clause here. Skelton physically dominated him this year when they met in Super Rugby??? He's not a particular stellar looking bloke??? His interviews are pretty shite??? Thats all I can come up with.

Haha. "You want an example?! Here's a bloody example! (insert vague, proof-less sweeping statement)". AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) definitely did pass a lot more than he was given credit for. Foleys kick are definitely getting more distance than they did 2-3 years ago. Beale improved his defence out of sight in...

    Rebels 2018

I don't mean to be alarmist, but it seems that you guys are without a head coach for next year and are losing a crazy amount of squad players / team leaders, especially relative to other teams who are locking down their core squad: + Toby Smith + Sean McMahon + Jack Debreczeni + Ben Meehan +...

    Rebels 2018

Heard from someone relatively in the know that Jordy Reid "broke" (maybe we should interpret this as somewhat seriously injured) his back and was forced to play through the injury by the Rebels staff. The person also let me know that Reid was offered a contract at Toulon but it was revoked...

    The new Wallaby jersey

Being 22 myself, I wouldn't wear a fucking Waratahs jersey out for a night on the town if you paid me, especially not the game-day jerseys that they sell. The fit is horrendous, the colour is horrendous, the entire style is horrendous. For a game of footy? Great. For a night out? Terrible...

    The Wallabies Thread

In terms of selections, despite almost every poster in this forum wanting a different 23, I think we'll all have moments of fury / euphoria throughout the upcoming tests. Why? Look at how many fucking games the Wallabies are playing this year! 19 Aug - AUS vs. NZ 26 Aug - NZ vs. AUS 09 Sep...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The major problem is that there'd be no broadcasting revenue associated with this transition which means we'd only be able to pay the players peanuts which means almost every Super rugby player in the country would go off shore. In 15 years time following that path may represent 10 steps...

    NRC onwards and upwards

Nek minut Fiji win it by an unfathomable margin.

    NRC onwards and upwards

Absolutely frothing for the NRC to begin. An Aussie team winning each weekend? Sign me up! Up, up the Perth Piggies.

That's a case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater if I've ever seen one. That team would get pantsed by Argentina, let alone the All Blacks.

Medicine isn't available as a part-time degree, so he's dropped in to focus on rugby full time. I've heard he's not until 2018. I've been very impressed with him this season though - I think he's been the form 8 in the Australian conference (besides perhaps Mafi).

    Waratahs 2018

I think with Foley, Beale, Hegarty and Mason all covering 10 we should be fine for next year. If Deegan is going, I can't blame him, as he wouldn't get time in the Tahs franchise unless an injury crisis hit. In his place we could pick up another Shute Shield 10 cheap to provide depth. I'd...

    The Wallabies Thread

Folau scored 5-6 tries in the 3 June internationals and against the Force he: + Ran 80m with ball in hand (#1 across both teams). + Had 4 defenders beaten (#1 across both teams). + Threw 3 clean offloads (#2 behind Foley across both teams). If that's not form, at least relative to the Force...

    Waratahs 2018

I also think, like our second rowers, our backrow is all wrong. Dempsey, Hanigan, Holloway, Hooper and Wells are too light collectively. We need a bruiser like Timani at 8 and an enforcer like Coleman at 5 to even things out.

    The Wallabies Thread

Comments like this are sensationalist, and ultimately, pretty bloody cooked if you ask me. Foley, Folau and Hooper have had the Tahs in their collective backpack all year. Having watched the Force game twice, they managed to have strong performances (with Foley and Folau constantly bending the...

    23 for next year given the signings we know? 1. Kepu 2. Latu 3. Robertson 4. Staniforth 5. Hanigan 6. Dempsey 7. Hooper 8. Holloway 9. Phipps 10. Foley 11. ? 12. Beale 13. ? 14. ? 15. Folau 16. Ryan 17. Roach 18. ? 19. ? 20. ? 21. Gordon 22. ? 23. ? Thoughts: 1-3: I'm very happy with...

    Waratahs 2017

Well, obviously not. From his selections we can infer he prefers a 6 in the Sinclair mould. High workrate, no-nonsense, out-and-out role player. High workrate and Jack Dempsey aren't exactly synonymous.

Speaking of which - where did Rixon end up? Hugely talented kid, hows he doing today?

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Lions take this. They built upon the first test very nicely last week and if they can continue that rate of improvement they'll be able to stick it to a 15 man ABs for the 80. Even in the first week, had they been more clinical and taken their chances I...
