RWC: SCO v RSA (St James Park): POOL B

Interesting though to pick a first-time captain in our biggest group game of the world cup. It doesn't really make sense to me.

RWC: SCO v RSA (St James Park): POOL B

They're used to playing Super Rugby matches in Australia, so that won't be a problem - I hope.

RWC: AUS v ENG (Twickenham): POOL A; 6am (AEDT) Sunday 4 October

Who'd you rather face - us or Scotland? Our pool can still go any which way. You might even face Japan, or even Samoa.

Unless Wales lose vs. Fiji, which is apparently a possibility.

    24 Team World Cup

Fair enough. I don't care about the format THAT much to argue why I think it's better. Let it be whatever it will be.

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

Ha! Now just to tell us who the hell the other blokes are in that "limerick".

    24 Team World Cup

Then there's obviously a reason it's not used anymore. It was most likely causing unnecessary confusion. A simple, streamline format is nicer to follow and you don't have to explain to people who don't really watch sports, how everything works, even Scousers understand the current format.

    That's just about spot on.

RWC: FIJ v WAL (Millenium): POOL A

Lol. We have Jesse Kriel doing that as well. It was cute the first 100 times vs Australia, but after that you could even see the forwards getting annoyed with him.

RWC: AUS v URU (Villa Park, Birmingham): POOL A; 9pm (AEST) Sunday 27 September

What, you don't think Aussie will win by infinity?

    24 Team World Cup

That's never happened, at least not since 1998 which is the first one I remember. Still won't be fair to the teams in the pools of stronger opponents. The current way isn't either, but the equation is simple - top 2 or you're out. There shouldn't be permutations in other pools that are out of...

Uruguay to squeeze this one out with a 3-point win. /troll Australia by a brazilian.

    24 Team World Cup

It's a helluva lot cleaner than 6 pools of 4 and having the 4 best 3rd-best sides. Reminds me of 1999. Then teams in New Zealand's group would have no chance, for example, compared to teams from other groups. You are right about the time, though. Then 4 pools of 6, with either the top 4...

RWC: AUS v ENG (Twickenham): POOL A; 6am (AEDT) Sunday 4 October

Which is exactly what my post said?

    24 Team World Cup

8 pools of 3 teams each - each team plays the others twice. Thus 4 matches per team. Top 2 go through to round of 16. Same amount of group games as now per team, and 1 more round of play-offs.

What curse is that exactly? And in that case, it won't be me worrying, it'll be the All Blacks. ;)

May actually do more damage if they win a quarter final vs. France, then lose both the semi-final and the 3rd/4th playoff.

Every team has their injuries. We haven't had Vermeulen for most of this year, for example.
