Agreed I should have added 'effective' to my statement - i didnt mean to belittle those hard working volunteers at the club level who do what they can with little to no resources - actually they are no longer just ignored by the ARU they are effectively burdened by them.

100% correct - the failure in keeping the 1000's of kids playing rugby during their final year of school in the game post school is keeping Rugby down. The so called 'elite rugby schools' are the only group doing anything to increase participation in the game. GT had 120+ boys play open rugby...

Until the ARU can get its act together and run the game within its means and professionally all this is moot. How can you expect proper development and systems when the 120 professionals are asking the 300000 amateurs to foot the bill. Rugby in Australia is broken - but that fact has nothing...

GT recruitment is modest at best, partly due to policy and partly due to no boarding. Depth will always be a problem and the last two years they have been very 'unlucky' with their top 2 or 3 players not being able to contribute or have the impact one might have expected. I know all schools...

No idea - Gt has always (last few years anyway) been prepared to bring in a couple of kids here and there, just not a whole team like some will do. New HM is a former long standing first grade rugby player and club stalwart at Souths so I suspect he will want to enjoy his Saturday afternoons...

A little research tells me they BOTH played Met-East Rugby League last year and they both attended Cav Road HS. Rogers has had some League exposure but is a rep Oztag player. Wrigley has played plenty of rep league

Are N Wrigley and J Rogers new to the school - I cant find any record of them playing last year?? I think Forsyth could well be in the 13 this season.

He had some nervous moments but didn't look out of his depth back to 20's and year of seasoning will do him the world of good. Big kid looks like he needs some upper body work/strength.
