    Rebels 2018

Well, I had high expectations this year and then the preseason games deadened them somewhat. Still managed to get disappointed.

    Rebels 2018

Ah. Missed the s I’d expect that the Rebels will be materially better than either the Force or the Rebels were last year. The Brumbies slightly better (with Pocock), the Waratahs similar and the Reds either brilliant under the new coach (or more likely) a complete disaster with inexperienced...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

It is looking like that might be the only option but if that is the case, then Twiggy should go full out nuclear war and make it a national competition with at least 12 teams. A billion should be able to keep that going for a few years without any other revenue.

    Rebels 2018

Rubbish. The starting locks for the Rebels will be Coleman and Parling or Philip. Last year was Douglas and Cummins. I'm pretty sure that is a major improvement.

    Rebels 2018

Well, he did miss most of the season in 2017 and we did ok without him then .... oh bugger

    Rebels 2018

Well, speaking for the Rebels - absolutely atrocious, embarrassing and incredibly frustrating. The Rebels finished 3rd in the conference in 2015 and 2016 with 7 wins. They would have topped 2017 with that performance.

    Rebels 2018

How many players do we need? 23 from the Rebels last year and 22 new players. That is a @#$@ing huge squad (of course we probably used that in 2017)

    Rebels 2018

Absolutely disgraceful. Shouldn't be let anywhere near a Super Rugby team with that sort of bullshit. Actually, maybe he should move over and coach one of the NZ teams. Might make it more even then.

    Rebels 2018

If it was true, I would have loved to see TT try and justify the change. I don't think I have been as disappointed at a Rebels game as that one.

    Rebels 2018

He has been pretty good since he came back. Not a great game against England but has to be one of the best performed players in the RC/Spring Tour. Koriobete and Hodge have also been impressive and have both nailed down their starting spots in the team. 91 days until the Reds

    Rebels 2018

I heard a rumor that the first half against the Waratahs at AAMI park wasn't in line with how TT wanted the team to play and that they were told to change the play style back to what he wanted (and then lost because of it). Any one know if there is any truth to that - they definitely played very...

    Rebels 2018

7 Force and 7 Rebels in the starting line up with 1 other. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hodge at 11, Meakes at 12 and Sefa at 13. Hanson has to be above Rangi for the bench (unless he goes elsewhere). Parling is probably pretty expensive for a bench player as well.

    Rebels 2018

I really don't have any idea. I don't have any detailed information on the Rebels finances. What their loss was last year (I'm assuming it was a loss)? There are 2 main ways to deal with it - increase revenue or drop expenses. The rumors are that non-player expenses were too much with...

    Rebels 2018

Seriously, he can #$&* off about anything to do with player payments with the massive top ups that the Waratahs get and the incredible underperformance given that extra spend.

    Hope we keep Mafi ...

    Rebels 2018

Also it is "estimated" and there is strong suspicion that there might be a few players drop off the radar before next year. Players had to go somewhere and the Rebels took a significant risk having a very empty roster (compared to the other teams). I'm sure it will be fine by 2019 as players...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Sounds good. Love the Rugby 7s - it is so undersold in Australia and really is Union's equivalent to 2020 cricket.

    Rebels 2018

Apparently according to the Australian, the Rebels are estimated to be $700k above the salary cap. I assume that there will be some sort of leeway for 2018 and in 2019 we would probably lose Parling, Stirzacker, Hanson and Horwitz or English. Of course, some of these may drop off immediately

    Rebels 2018

$81 at unibet. At odds of $81, they are assuming the Rebels will suck as bad as this year so they haven't been paying any attention to the signings. What you really want though is a cash out option where once they start winning, the odds drop and you get your money back. I suspect that the...
