ARU fee structure change for 2015

So am I right in assuming the SJRU position to the NIL and NPR fee is as follows: - they have negotiated a $1.1M cut to funding - they have sourced their own insurance - they will not be using Rugby Link - they have reduced their ARU Fee to $11 - they will not pay that amount to NSWRU until...

ARU fee structure change for 2015

SJRU website isn't very productive. I was hoping to find a release that clearly outlined their path forward. If be interested to know how they accessed their insurance and whether it was through the NSW govt. not sure if the Qld govt operate a similar scheme. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure where this leaves SJRU and other unions not using RugbyLink - according to Bill they will not be sanctioned or insured Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Doesn't seem like an awful lot - $A105M p.a., compared with around $A200M each for league and AFL in a very small Australian market. Admittedly, the article said it doesn't include finals, and European Cup/Heineken Cup revenues would be additional, and travel costs are more reasonable, but still...

    All-Time Crim 1st XV

League fans have a Wife Basher XIII here, was only discussing it with a mate yesterday. I'm sure they could field teams in a number of categories.

ARU fee structure change for 2015

Are you confident of retaining the DO in your district if that deal saw $1.1M cut from the NSWRU budget? I find it fascinating how this thing has evolved. We're really at the pointy end now, our sign on is next weekend and our season starts first week of March. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow, I'm amazed. Will that mean a considerable drop in activity at a grassroots level? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ARU fee structure change for 2015

Yeah, I don't think the deferment is from the ARU though. I think the SJRU and NSWRU are paying to reduce the levy - and you don't even have a state levy to contend with! Been doing our sums and our club has a liability when each junior steps onto the field of something like $105. We will have...

ARU fee structure change for 2015

Is that working together to bring the fee to $10+ code for we're emptying the coffers to minimise the impact this year, o have they genuinely negotiated a better outcome?

    Reds 2015

Agree here - to find the spaces, QC (Quade Cooper) needs runners, and for spaces to appear, the forwards need to create some momentum. I'm most excited about Thomson's impact on the side. Comparing the Reds since 2011 when Higgers, Samo and Robbo were providing high workrate and go forward, the new side seems...

    Reds 2015

I think Gill could have performed just as well as Hooper in Gold this year. Ultimately, it's all about what the coach decides. Rep footy is littered with the broken dreams of very good players who didn't quite make the impact they deserved - Whittaker, Waugh, the Reds 7 who played for...

ARU fee structure change for 2015

Yeah perhaps. This is the sort of thing that is be happy for the ARU to be spending money on - sharing information and models around the country. I think I mentioned that in one of my first posts - the most difficult thing we face in Aus (regionally) is size and population density. Queensland...

ARU fee structure change for 2015

We have a pretty good sponsorship set up, and we charge players a small fee each week to play. Clubs and players pay for the programs and the clubs manage it through the sub-Union who employ these people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ARU fee structure change for 2015

Sometimes, usually not. In Qld, kids finish school at 17 usually. Most of the DOs use the chance to work in rugby as gap year, that lasts two years. They do work hard, but it's not rocket science delivering rugby activities to school kids - as I've said, Townsville probably pays over the odds in...

Maybe not in your sub-Union. I can only speak of my experience in Townsville but I think we have a great system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ARU fee structure change for 2015

In Townsville our DOs get a Cert 4 in Sport & Rec I think. Takes two years and the people are both familiar with the area before they start, they have had experience playing in the competition they are servicing, and they have roots in our town so there is a familiarity with the clubs that...
