Or it will show what alot of people have known for ages, which is that foley doesnt have the playmaking ability to cut it at this level. Other then the test against england at the RWC (which i concede was probably the greatest performance from an aussie flyhalf since larkham) can you name a test...

Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

We need a lot of changes next week

Foley has for the 2nd week in a row created nothing, kicked poorly and thrown hospital passes. If we didnt have Folau we would have 0 creativity in this backline.

i couldnt tell you because i was at the game observing it from the ground. i'l rewatch it today on foxtel and get back to you because he did do it, the most obvious one is the tackle on david pocock where Haskell destroyed him.

unfortunately i think we have to go with Lealiifano, even though i think Kerevi was pretty good. I am a fan of Foley, and im definitely not calling for his head. But i thought other then his running game, which was as good as we expect from him, he really does struggle in the playmaking...

    The Wallabies Thread

i'm not meaning to create a big issue, cause i don't think any of the contentious players are actually going to get any game time. thats the problem with the internet i guess since you cant really get a feel for the emotions behind what is said. and i think Horwill, Palu, Houston and Powell are...

i mean if he ends up being half as good as any of those blokes then it will be great, but those selections dont justify this one. it really doesnt matter because i highly doubt powell will get any game time, but it just seems to be a slap in the face to the blokes in Melbourne who have been...

the problem i have is more to do with the Experienced players he has picked. does anyone actually see a benefit to selecting Palu? he wont get any game time (Hopefully) and hes not there to help mentor any of our younger blokes cause we didnt pick any younger no.8s. Does anyone actually think...

in our case i guess Beggars cant be choosers when it comes to outside backs.

sure but hes also 32 and wont be around next RWC, or if he is i doubt he will be good enough to play for the wallabies. Being fair his selection upon review isn't that bad. i would have picked Jones, or Neville instead but it does make some sense. i just expected Cheiks to go with a conservative...

anyone know what Naiyavoros form has been like for Glasgow?

regardless our match day 23 surely wont have any of these left field selections, so its not too bad. i just feel like we passed up a good development opportunity by picking old blokes eg. Mumm Horwill, Houston, Palu and i dont think Powell is fair to Meehan or Stirzaker

he had played for the reds since 2007 and had already played 18 games for the reds before 2009 so that puts his total up to 26 and he had started in a few

    The Wallabies Thread

it was slightly similar but Genia had played 26 games for the reds, and had started at least 10 of them before he was picked. I do think Powell will be good for the walllabies, but this is a very premature pick when 7 bench appearances can get you a squad call-up

    The Wallabies Thread

fair enough about Naivalu then. i know it wont effect the match day squad, and our 23 will be alot more conservative, but i dont understand why Cheiks would pick so many player that are past it instead of young blokes who deserve the spots more and would help their development. Powell will be a...

was Genia picked after just 7 super rugby games from the bench?

    The Wallabies Thread

Meehan would have been a good choice for 3rd halfback, Joe Powell has looked good in a very, very limited amount of game time. if we can pick players based on such a small amount of time, why isnt blokes like holloway, Hodge, Naivalu in the squad?
  18. Gillys_ghost

    The Wallabies Thread

that is one cooked out squad. im sure the actual match day 23 will be fine, but this isnt great. Powell is a good scrumhalf in the 3 super rugby games hes played. Palu is an awful choice, Mumm hasnt shown any consistent form, Leroy Houston doesnt make much sense when young blokes here are...

    Reds 2016

Its fair to say Beau was below his best, but he hardly got enough game time to really get into his groove, whether its through injury or Gilly returning he hasnt had a proper ppportunity since 2012. Hes only 29, not 35 and im sure given the chance to retake his jersey he wouldnt dissapoint.

    Reds 2016

Whats Beau Robinson up to now? With Gilly gone i wouldnt mind grabbing him back. He always gave everything and hes pretty well-rounded. Maybe a level below gill but still a bloody good player.
