Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

like rugby the game they play in heaven or whatever. arguing over marketing slogans is a bit of a meh imo. IMO if I am running Parramatta I am making a play at Folau not Beale. The thing the ARU is losing is its big carrots of winning a world cup or gold medal are more becoming participating...

International Rugby League isn't as strong as union. But this is just incorrect. New Zealand beat England all the time in league, in fact they are probably ranked higher then them. If the game is played in the southern hemisphere they would be favourites. If you want a comparable upset I...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

That's kind of bath to advertise rugby league. I don't watch much English union but if they still play the same dull old game plan there not going to get much use out of him. He would be more suited to the wallabies / SA or NZ or even france

I don't think having employees/players will ever be a problem for any code. So the swapsies of some athletes is a bit of a non issue. Its the interest in codes from the supporters which is the key thing.

I agree any increase in AFL junior clubs are likely to come from other codes first because unions junior clubs are already in so much trouble. Realistically the kids playing AFL in juniors are likely to come at the expense of:- 1 - kids who weren't playing any other code anyways - 2 - Soccer 3...

If I were wearing my union hat and had control of the CAS GPS system and it were possible I would forget about soccer and AFL and just run union programs. But if you are trying to run as many options as possible to give the best chance at a learning something from the sport and b potential a...

I am more talking about Sydney. It hasn't had AFL in the schools for as long and tbh in Sydney atleast I think a lot of the kids would jump at a chance to play league, especially the schools in more rugby league supporting areas. And you are right about schools not owing any allegiance to...

From my experience going to one of them. The school demanded you play for them on Saturdays. My options were soccer or rugby and the other sports. Obviously on other days I imagine you could play for whomever but you would have to fit that around your training and playing for school. More...

This again goes to my point. I would prefer union not die and the AFL not feed on its corpse. However, the CAS/GPS getting AFL in their schools in front of league suggests to me that they are slitting their own throats to ensure they can go down swinging at league?? IMO the conservative...

It depends on your definition. If your definition of an international game, a game that is not played exclusively in one country but many countries and internationals played between said countries. Then league ticks those boxes. Most sports do. If your definition is a game that is played...

The above goes back to my point, the AFL is growing its corporate presence massively in Sydney, not league. They are taking that corporate presence from Rugby Union not Rugby League.

    The League Media

Everyone keeps banging on about the international game aspect. It is irrelevant to the point I am trying to make. Basketball is a bigger international game then union and that's hasn't helped it all, especially in the southern states where the AFL swallows it up. Rugby League is an...

No of course the union won't hand over anything to anyone. My post is more about the mindset of the union fan and there attitudes towards rugby league and AFL. I don't think either sport will ever die completely it more goes to the influence and strength of the game, at the moment union is...

    The League Media

The only argument I can come up with is that union considers itself on its knees in Australia. And therefore:- And it would prefer to see its exit benefit AFL and see the AFL take over then doing anything that could in any benefit League in anyway shape or form. From union its more of a...

    The League Media

An argument yes, but it imo is incorrect. If union dies first in Australia at the hands of all their fans watching and playing AFL, it will just give more resources to the AFL to dominate and potentially kill off league in the future. If league dies before union in Australia first..... at...

lol, I see them as vigilantes, but justified ones. I just think it is naïve to think the AFL will only kill union or league, obviously a supporter of either code is going to think their code is less threatened but the point remains for the love of rugby union or league see the greater threat...

    NRC Crowd Watch

The NSW cup is on at the same time as the NRL as well. If you like league why would you go to the NSWRL GF over the prelim? The NRC isn't matched up against the Super Rugby. That said I don't think crowds at that level are that important.

    The League Media

to be fair, I think supporters of most codes support multiple codes, it is just vigilantes who have only one of choice. I know plenty of vigilantes who follow AFL more then I know league vigilantes but that is probably due to my circumstances. Oddly enough I do not know many vigilante union...
