Seems a real issue across lots of schools that rugby numbers are well down. Soccer and Basketball numbers very strong. Really think the years of ARU, Wallabies and Reds disasters has taken its toll, as kids dont dream of being a wallaby these days! Throw in last years serious injuries and it...

BBC demolished BSHS today. In my opinion they were the best side in the comp except for 15 minutes against TSS. Yet goal kicking and composure cost them and the premiership drought continues. Would have to think they go down in the top bracket of sides to have missed a premiership.

Ripely also kicked the last conversion from the sideline against IGS...the week before TSS. Drahm obviously couldn’t work it out that he was the best kicker even though it was staring him in the face! He has since kicked 10 from 10!

If Howarth back next year then BBC will be very competitive. He is an absolute weapon!!

Great game by BBC today, first win on Ross oval since 1985! Defence was awesome, won them the game. Unfortunately composure and goal kicking against TSS cost them a premiership. Hopefully Howarth is back next year and doesn’t go to the Storm early. He would be scary good in grade 12 next year!

Surely BBC can find a new way to lose a game!! ha ha ha

Howarth for me was the best on field, and this shows how much he cares for the Jersey!! The crowd of Old Boys there on the day also indicated nobody cares if the kids are on scholarship or not, as long as they are giving 100% and doing the school proud!! Hope the new headmaster was watching...

Kalolo and Savage may have been the missing pieces for BBC this year!

Going to take a while to get over that as a BBC old boy and long time supporter. Still very proud of the way the boys played and the atmosphere at Miskin was unbelievable. Biggest crowd in history at the venue...heartbreaking result! Well done to TSS they took their chances when they could...

Your memories of 2017 are 100% correct. Goal kicking cost BBC a premiership in 2017 and despite a brilliant effort from the team yesterday it looks like it will cost them again in 2019.

Far out that is a trajedy....why was Mason Gordon playing in the 16A game today!!! Shane Drahm needs to take the blame for this, you think he would have learned from 2017 that goal kicking wins tight games. But the ref absolutely added to the result how was that not a penalty to BBC for...

very painful memories!! And that is how you end up going 65 years (and counting) in between premierships!

TSS look a very good side, no real weaknesses.....hopefully it doesn't come down to goal kicking as BBC kickers looked very poor against IGS, and Mason Gordon left out of the team. Hope it is not a repeat of 2017 when BBC should have had a premiership after outscoring TSS and NC 8 tries to 5...

I think this is actually a wider Rugby issue, numbers are down at local club level from what I have seen, not much inspiration for kids to play rugby looking at wallabies or super rugby in recent years. Schools like BBC need to do more to compete but plenty of schools still going hard at the...

New headmaster at BBC. Not big into sport and rumour is that scholarships have stopped. This has coincided with competition for students from Ambrose Treacy College now a viable option for students/rugby players in the same catchment. Real lack of depth in the under 11-13 with only two teams...
