Just because you're well intentioned doesn't mean your free from critique. This isn't an echo chamber.

Rugby isn't big enough in Brisbane to support this. Clubs aren't on even kiel with each other for a myriad of reasons - mostly off-field bleeding to on field results. I don't see how this changes anything from a quality of professionalism perspective at all honestly. And I know the western...

Have they? Or you just hearing this from a friend of a friend who knows a bloke who works with the canteen convener? And I'm calling it funny because it's more representative of the arrogance of some in the QPR community that believe there is this mass gridlock of clubs desperate to get in...

USC is a university that has next to no association with the rugby club. Plenty of diverse interest groups among their student cohort too so seeing them post about their Quidditch club on instagram once or twice is nothing to read into. What you can read into however, is that no club on the...

    Aussie Player Exodus

This is the answer I'd give if someone asked me to name a player that nobody has thought about for awhile

Why isn't Norths stronger if there is a big northern catchment for them already? Do the Sunny Coast players want to commute - what real evidence is there to suggest that there is demand?

I really don't think the QRU Board is a hurdle. It's in their interest to increase playing numbers and playing standards across club rugby. It's more likely that the idea a nice thought but unlikely to succeed in reality. QRU also operates under a membership model. I don't know for sure - but...

You're then getting into dangerous areas where you're starting to tell people where they can and can't play amateur rugby. Not sure when the Shute Shield adopted their structure (4 grades, 3 colts) but they've always had a strong subbies competition (even if its not as strong as it once was -...

I don't know for sure but my guess is this is a big assumption that there are 700 new kids wanting to play rugby every year ("new" as in new to QPR ecosystem). Again - I think the "demand" is overstated, massively. If there was spillage into other grades/ clubs you'd probably see other evidence...

Those guys could probably get a run in existing first grade programs if they really wanted to. Nothing stopping the guys in 2s at Brothers from going to play at Norths now for example. The standards drop off between 1st-3rd grade at some clubs is stark compared to others - tells me that guys...

This is incredibly difficult to do, and very different from say, a professional team expansion. I love the idea of expanding but I think the practicalities need to be explored more, even in hypotheticals. What would be the incentive - beyond location - for players and coaches of that ilk to...

If he's eligible (and good enough) they'll pick him straight away the Lions - I vaguely remember this being the case for Pete Samu back in the day. Still playing super rugby this year as well, it's just with the Chiefs.

With Peter Horne coming out earlier in the year and saying he only wants Australian qualified players in Super Rugby (mostly) - I can't see why they would sign him unless he was immediately eligible. Christy / The Roar also reporting he's a bolter for the Lions - he's usually pretty bang on...

All of the other clubs would need to buy into expansion - and when they're MO is just to grow and grow and grow, I don't see why they would suddenly be feeling altruistic about a Wynnum or Caboolture joining the comp and increasing the competition for players across the grades.
