A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

Bingo. I've had this thought for a while now. Why not look to establish a web based subscription TV channel of the likes of what the NBL has done. Set it up to cover the above proposed 7s concept both Shute and Premier Rugby (2 games each weekly) and ACT Rugby (1 game). Schoolboys from NSW and...

Perthorians. That's what the recent Saffa arrivals call it. They also like to play on that Afrikaans will soon be taught as a second language in WA schools.

    Yeah, Samu from memory.

Who should be the next ARU CEO?

I've been a fan of locating specific areas to target on year by year basis. From a Sydney based perspective, I've always stated the area in which I was raised would be a perfect example. A very average working area with a large PI and Kiwi presence particularly in the public schools. If the ARU...

    Super rugby 2012 attendances

Yeah, you have to admire the loyalty. As a Tahs fan I wish we had more like them.

Forgot that. However, if he takes the experience on board and really applies himself he could ensure a spot for the next few seasons. There's a lot to like about him in my opinion.

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

If Rugby get all of the MCS schools (which include both Greg's and Pat's Blacktown) then many of the old guard would be in for a very nasty shock to the preconceived ideas.

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

" cant take a comp seriously when the best nsw team in it is st gregs..keebra just hyping it up way more than they should." The above quote implies that the competition was illegitimate and therefore not worthwhile. It essentially detracts from the achievements of the kids on both teams. As...

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

Just because "all the good teams" didn't for some ridiculous send full strength teams to a state and in kind national championship of any kind doesn't in anyway dent the credibility of the schools that chose to compete and the tournament they competed in. In fact, it says a great deal about...

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

Yes, at the state qualifiers in which they won with Hills Sports coming in second. You're also dismissing the levels of talent that existed in the non-traditional schools they competed against to get there. Several those schools are also integral to the League development pathways. They weren't...

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

It was more the insular perspective of the comment more so than the content that riled me. Southsider attended a traditional Rugby school from memory and it's that attitude that hinders the game when someone from the that system displays such dismissive arrogance toward the kinds of...

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

Mate, if ignorance is bliss. Then you're delirious. St Greg's train and prepare for this event. They bring in expertise to assist in developing the squad for this event. Each student that competes in 7s for the school also competes in the ISA 1st competition for the school. Yes, and they also...

    ARU Governance Report

I'm sort of hoping for someone to provide more of an overview. I'd actually be amazed if they did publish it.

There's still lot of development both physically and game play wise in Volavola so I actually think that this is a good pick up for the next few seasons.

    The Ideal NSW Schools Comp

Gregs will always find it difficult to field teams as long as ISA runs in term 2. They current operate primarily on boarders nd about 60 day boys. If the schedule was moved to term 3 the current issues Gregs experience will in time lessen.

    IS OUR GAME GROWING?

I don't get the whole, infiltration thing. AFL football has been an option at particularly primary school students for quite a long time now. Hasn't had an effect in that time and it's unlikely it would now.
