Super Rugby Trial - Tahs vs Highlanders @ Leichhardt - Friday 17/1/20 @6.45pm

I thought the “play what is in front of you” philosophy was well implemented though easier in a trial than Super good hit out for the Tahs. While I think some of the Mason criticism is excessive he was outplayed by Harris. Decent hit out for the Tahs.

Super Rugby Trial - Tahs vs Highlanders @ Leichhardt - Friday 17/1/20 @6.45pm

Something odd going on between Mason and Hunt. Positioning is odd leaving too much depth in the second pass even though Mack isn’t particularly deep. Like Hunts touches though. 9, 14 and 15 have been fabulous. Edit also the game plan seems wide early, Mack has played his role.

Super Rugby Trial: Reds v Rebels 17 January 2020

I missed the first half but there was plenty of one out stuff in the pack in what I did see.

    Reds 2020

Don’t know if it’s been mention but to days trial is being live streamed on Rugby.com and at the Reds.

    Rebels 2020

JERSEY COLOURS In the UK blue historically signifies royalist (anglican) and red signifies reactionary catholic. Compare these in the world of football: Man U v Man City Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday Chelsea and Crystal Palace v Charlton [I'm not sure of the gunners which started from...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

If the reality is a completely different comp then surely you re-brand and turf “Super”

    Waratahs 2020

I’d be concerned with Beale that playing intuitively devolves to taking opportunity for himself more than for those outside him. It needs a balance at 10 that is skewed to the outside men, imo. I’m actually intrigued as to how he goes.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Don’t conflate the ABs with Super. WBs still do well, the issue is Super in Aus.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The difference being that NZRU seem to be doing fine commercially. Aus is hampered by the broadcast slots and content. Something needs doing that is more than NZ myopia.

    Waratahs 2020

Who knows, the change may even be the spark that re-invigorates his career. Personally I find it messy, but no doubt 'Tah supporters have reason to hope.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Aus GDP 1.4T US RSA GDP 350B US NZ GDP 200B US The differences are more stark when you turn it into income per person - NZ not really that far behind Aus, RSA is a different matter. The other thing is that many low income countries rely on an informal economy, for whatever reason RSA isn't...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2020

REALLY bad place for a 10. Still where in the QPR thread, Brothers must do well with Hamish.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2020

Have to agree, but he’s not really nailed any position at pro level. I understand why Reds have given him so much chance at 10 but it’s not his spot. He’s in danger of the “Hodge syndrome”. If teams are serious about “finishing” specialists he has a long term future. But I understand a desire to...

    Reds 2020

Actually I thought we held on to several non-performing HCs for way too long. No one should be considering chopping Thorn at this juncture, but his appointment was premature, but has now had sufficient introduction and now must present wins.

    Reds 2020

In my eyes the last 2 years Thorn was a journeyman. That 3year thing to prove yourself starts 2020. And he does have to start proving things. For me his ability to manage big name players is a big problem. But he has invested in youth well and has them lined up I think he’s going to do well...

    Wallaby Coach Conga Line

And the answer is that we really haven't seen this level of independence from recent franchises for, well long time.

    Wallaby Coach Conga Line

Agree with all that but let’s hope they have an eye on rewarding g performance during the Super season.
