    Wallabies Tri Nations

Regarding 3M, his better performances were at lock, and not 6. 6 he seemed to go missing and struggle at times, plus as mentioned his body height was often too high. But playing tighter at lock, 3M often stood out with his agression and good work rate. Was a shame to see him go. I tend to...

For me, the positive part for the S15 next year is that the Rebels look like they will have a competitive side without significantly weakening any existing teams. Growing some more depth without making existing teams worse is ideal for Aus rugby. I don't think it's possible to have 4 teams in...

    Reds 2011

Well, there you go. How wrong I was :( I maintain that he was a bit of a solid journeyman though! Will provide some nice and much needed depth after the loss of Byrnes, but won't be a match winner. And agree with TOCC; fair enough to cheer when the Reds go well, but no need to come...

    Reds 2011

I can't be bothered to look up AWH's height, but from memory he was not a 2M+ lock, more like a lock/blindside "halfling" similar to Mumm / Caldwell. Of course, with a good jump / lift and throw a few cms can be irrelevant in a lineout anyhow.

    Wallabies Tri Nations

The Gits / Barnes combo has never really clicked at test level, although due to Barnes being often crocked it was maybe not played as often as it could have been. I was a supporter / hopeful, but am unsure it would work. I think that Cooper offers more than both Gits or Barnes at 10...

    Reds 2011

AWH never really impressed me, TBH. I thought he was a good S14 journeyman at the Brumbies before he left, but not much more. He does add a bit of good depth to the Reds' squad though - it's been a long time since that you could have said that they have some depth in the forwards.

    Wallabies Tri Nations

I think that not supporting the Wallabies just because you may not like the selections is a bit much. At the very least, hope for a win and the players you do not agree with to struggle (that's what I do with selections I don't agree with, but am always accepting for them to prove me wrong...

With injuries to TPN, Alexander, Horwill and Palu, plus Moore and Robinson only just making it back from injury for the 3N (and may struggle for form for the first half of the tournament), we simply don't have the pack to match it with the All Blacks and Boks. I am really hopeful that our...

    Wallabies Tri Nations

Mitchell's woeful defensive errors have finally cost him. Amazed he still wasn't in the squad, though. I thought one of Turner or Mitchell would make it; maybe one of them will be included at a later date (if they are still accessing Shepherd's club form?). Hynes, Turner and Mitchell have...

    Waratahs 2011

http://nswrugby.com.au/FansStuff/CampWaratah/CampWaratah.aspx Hmmm, anyone want to take a sweep on #1 Tah's age? 6 - 14? I'd qualify (like most on this board) if they consider mental maturity age; unfortunately my body's age is more like 56 - 64. Shame my actual age is not actually near any...

    Waratahs 2011

It would take a season plus an off-season for him to even get close to peak fitness - at his age, it takes a very long time indeed to get back to peak fitness after even one season out. Yes, I appreciate Vickerman's value as a mentor, but I wouldn't expect anything of him on the field. A step...

    Waratahs 2011

I can't see how Vickerman will even be as (in)effective as Harrison. He had injury problems before he left, has had injury problems since he left, and always struggled to come back to form after an injury. Vickerman was absolutely horrendous in the last World Cup after rushing back from yet...

    Wallaby Injury Log

Thanks for this Noddy! Hawko - you mean Ryan Tyrell by the Force hooker I guess. I think he may be forced to retire. Turner is definately gone for this season. Bigger question mark is if he will be gone for a lot of the next as well. If Vickerman ever makes a comeback at a high level, I...

    Wallabies Tri Nations

Any word on Horne's injury? And Chambers? Maybe we should put together a list of who is not available due to injury (those unlikely to be picked anyway in brackets) to help those who like to select their own squad: Alexander, TPN (likely), Horwill, Palu, (Baxter, Humphries, Davies)

    Waratahs 2011

Sadly, I can't see Caldwell ever returning to full fitness or form is he has a chronic case of Chron's disease. I remember seeing the affect it had on Mike McCready (Pearl Jam lead guitarist), and seeing it highlighted in a documentary with them (although he also had a few other substance abuse...

G&GR Wallabies Player of the Match vs Ireland, Brisvegas

LF - it'd be interesting to see how Burgess passes and kicks in training, because as you said, under pressure it's (usually) horrible aside from the odd game. Burgess is a great instinctive runner and solid defender, and knows how to force a turnover or two. That the inconsistency in the other...

    Who will win tri nations

Alexander and TPN are definately back? I understood that TPN is very unlikely, and Alexander is definately out. Has there been confirmation somewhere on either? Let's look at the second England test - Robinson, Moore/TPN, Alexander, Horwill, Palu. The difference these guys could have made...

    Waratahs 2011

Yeah agree, Kepu wouldn't be bad at openside - he'd be completely awful. Mobility and workrate too low for an openside, fitness too low, body frame too big to even get the required mobility and speed, has not shown the linking skills required, and does not possess the scavenging skills. In...

G&GR Wallabies Player of the Match vs Ireland, Brisvegas

naza is like a broken record. So anti-Gregan but pro-Burgess. Outside of Burgess' try, he was worse than Gregan circa 2007. Inaccurate passes, too much crabbing behind the advantage line, and poor passes at the first receiver's head and feet. Remove the try, and Burgess' performance was like...
