    Waratahs v Highlanders, semi-final, Saturday 27 June

Just another bitter Reds fan. Remember back when they thought they were God's gift to Rugby and their dynasty would reign supreme for years to come. Turned out to be one year followed by ever deepening mediocrity.

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

Tribalistic or myopic? I'd err on the side of the latter.

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

The Eagles will also be playing Harlequins in Philadelphia three weeks before the NRFL game. It's being billed as a RWC warm up game and will be played at the much smaller MLS stadium with tickets half the price. It could very well sell out. It's interesting as USARugby aren't too thrilled by...

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

Club Rugby only 'grew' by 1%. So we'll take those numbers with a grain of salt.

    The League Media

I agree. I see League as the prodigal son who unlike in the Bible didn't see sense and return. Instead it kept thinking it was right, got heavy into meth and now finds itself providing certain services to media organisation to survive. :D

    Shute Shield 2015

Wicks 9 snatches a pop pass out of the air and runs 55m for the intercept try to cap off an impressive performance from him. Horowitz converts, Wicks win 24-13. Pretty even last 20 with Wicks probably getting the better of the territory. The Wicks probably should have scored 3 or so more...

    Shute Shield 2015

Wests get one back in the 55th down the right wing. The 15 takes a long range PK and gets in. 17-13 to the Wicks but Wests getting excited. Wicks knock on 25m out from their own line.

    Shute Shield 2015

10-3 To the Wicks. They've had most of the running. The contest around the ruck has been very willing and defence of both team pretty stiff. Got scrappy for about 5 or 6 minutes in the middle of the half but found its structure again. Been played at a strong pace which suits both teams.

    Shute Shield 2015

Good game on 7TWO. Big step up on last week. As I said this the game has become scrappy.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

If you have an XBOX you don't even need the Chromecast as it supports a number of streaming services including Netflix. As for the live sport argument. I used to watch the ITM Cup through Foxtels XBOX service live. It can be done even with our limited bandwidth. Smart organisations are setting...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Five years tops. Outside of the Rugby and Cricket we stream everything at my place now. We have Presto, Stan and now Netflix. Next week we'll be using a VPN to sign up to both HBO GO and Showtime.

    Shute Shield 2015

The ads didn't bother me too much. The panning to the wide screen at times where you wanted a closer view was the big issue.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

That was probably SW best game. NS simply weren't allowed to really play in the 2nd half. SW controlled the game with really good structured play combined with a well organised defence. Add their obvious power game and it was always going to be hard for NS. The first half of the first half was...

    Waratahs 2016

As a Tahs fan I'd rather not see him make the move. I actually don't think he fits with our style of play and lacks impact. I'd rather see Gray and/or Holloway given an opportunity first as I think there are much bigger upsides to both of those boys than McCalman.

World Rugby Sevens Caravan coming to Sydney

Agreed. The ARU needs to not only target it's current base but work with Events NSW to develop a marketing campaign to the casual sports fan. In a city the size of Sydney the event should be sold out in every session. The best way to ensure that is by drawing as many new eyes as possible.

    Ideas for NRC 2015

The fan engagement side of it is probably the biggest part of it. The likes of the NRL and AFL are very active in this regard.

    Ideas for NRC 2015

A mass expansion of the NRC would probably be a little unworkable in the near future. Though I do like the expansion of the Shute Shield to include a couple of the nearby Country regions. Illawarra, Newcastle and Central Coast plus probably Balmain. This would allow for a restructure of the...

World Rugby Sevens Caravan coming to Sydney

    Seems to be their intent.

World Rugby Sevens Caravan coming to Sydney

It's not happening. Been confirmed as safe. It wasn't so much getting rid of the U.S. leg more looking at alternative venues. Which frankly was just crazy. It's already into probably one of the boom events on the series breaking attendance records year on year. Think crowds were up close to 15%...

World Rugby Sevens Caravan coming to Sydney

Both Vancouver and Las Vegas will follow one another.
