    Reds 2017

I am cautious with my expectations as we need so much improvement from this year and the reality is Stiles was part of this years set up so I don't know to what extent to expect him to recognise that a drastic change in approach is required. I don't think there was anything there from this year...

England v Australia, Saturday 3 December

Maybe, but I would suggest the emergence of Coleman will prove to be much more important going forward. Assuming, of course, that he has a good run with injuries going forward.

Comprehensively outplayed. Good 20 minutes in the first half, but that was about it.

Who would you pick in front of Simmons & why? None of the other contenders have outplayed him. Bemoaning our lack of world XV quality is one thing - and I'd largely agree with you in that - but casting aside a player to replace him with a worse one, how does that help? Cheika did actually drop...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

BR - I get that you don't like Simmons, but that has nothing to do with my post. Your not seriously suggesting Simmons should be blamed for Mumm tipping the bloke up because he missed a clean out? If that is the standard to which you want to deride Simmons than mate I've got to tell you I think...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

Ah, okay - sorry - my post wasn't very clear. I was meaning to say that, for me, player safety comes above everything, even refering consistency. Of course, this is actually a disingenuous statement because essentially what I want is refereeing consistency in punishing dangerous play harshly...

SImmons arm is around his shoulders/neck. The commentators I think said they thought he was more the culprit. I dont think that is right though.

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

If that's what they said, then yes. I've reviewed the clip above and he appears to land clearly head first IMO. Don't get me wrong, I thought a yellow was fair - but if we want consistancy, than with dangerous play, whether deliberate or a accidental, there needs to be harsh penalties. I'm not...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

No - player safety is what I want above everything. On my viewing he was not just lifted, but driven downwards and his head made first contact with the ground. I was happy with a yellow, but if he had of copped a red I would have accepted it. I note Dean Mumm didn't appear to complain and...

England v Australia, Saturday 3 December

When England beat us 3 - 0 there was a chorus of boos around Cheika ignoring the importance of our lineout. To suggest the way forward is to weaken the lineout further on the basis that Timani & Douglas are going to smash England into submission seems fanciful to me. We simply don't have a...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

By the letter of the law, I thought it was supposed to be a red card. I thought there was a clear edict that players can't lift a player, in the tackle or breakdown and, if they do and they land on their head it is an automatic red card. Could be wrong though.

England v Australia, Saturday 3 December

Unfortunately I don't think you can have Fardy without penalties - it is a by product of going hard at the ball the way he does. Same for Pocock. In saying that, Mumm is no clean skin. It is an issue for us at present. I agree that Slipper is struggling, but I'm not sure the alternatives are...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

And being able to monster people means nothing if you loose every set peice and said player can't keep up with the pace of the game. Look, I'm playing devils advocate here, but these comments suggest that Cheika is leaving out significantly better players. Timani may have provided more impact...

Interesting comments about Mumm. At my single viewing I thought both he and Simmons got through a truck load of work in the first half when we were under the pump. Mumm obviously blotted his copybook with the yellow, but otherwise I thought worked tirelessly. One thing that won't show up in the...

Haha - that's quite funny. Jeez BR - you rate him right up there with Simmons & Mumm don't you.

Foley is going well too. Front foot ball and runners in motion inside and outside him and he is picking his targets well. I'm looking for the show and go to come out of the kit back shortly.

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Australia's kick chase has improved. For all the bitching about the kicks, our primary issue has always been our chase. Speight has looked good to me. In fact, a number of guys are putting their hands from what I'm watching.

EOYT 2016 - Possibles, probables and general banter

I know his career to date has been injury interrupted, but can anyone say what the chances are of Ritchie Arnold emulating brother Rory's rise to Wallaby status should he be able to stay injury free?
