New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

I’m calling the points start a good bet for the WBs. Winning would be highly unexpected but there is every reason to expect the Rennie Wallabies to give the game a good crack. There is also plenty for the revised ABs to prove here. Cake tin makes the difference and could be 20 points.

However it translates to the game, To’omua is clearly presented as a WB leader in the off field area. I’d suggest he is doing very well too.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Wasn’t sure where to put this but in South Africa the Cheetahs are going through their own franchise cancellation problems. Got to feel for Free State, they were a Super Rugby quality team (not finalists perhaps), using that unique African home advantage (altitude) and they blazed a successful...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Stay blinkered to the rugby. One of that matters when Stan is cheaper than Kayo and you get FTA cover. Then you can binge again Peaks as a bonus.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Though NZR finances are then squeezed. Are the current franchises expecting a drop in funding to support the additional team(s)?

    Rebels 2021

And if he reads the message as “time to move on” then that itself is self full-filling and a good result for the WBs. As long as the chance for a return is real. He just needs to knuckle under.

    Wallabies 2020

Absolutely it is a lessor risk to test a debutant from the bench. Amongst everything else they have less exposure to fuck up a test. In the end the HC will be making the call on who is ready and how ready they are. I’m really looking forward to the announcement tomorrow. Go boys, and be bold...

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

16/17? BH that is my take though I’d have Hodge at 23. Not long now to see what Rennie does.

    Reds 2021

Nothing close to the competition in Sydney though. All the same I still see nothing to correct the appearance that the biggest issue in Sydney is the disconnect of SRU and, well everything else.

    Reds 2021

I can think of a few examples of NSW talent who have been welcomed here and are now considered dinky-di Qld-ers. Preference locally bred talent for sure, but if stocks are low then picking up a forgotten NSW guy and making something of him with a Red tinge - well that also is pleasing.

How has he developed while away?

    Reds 2021

Ah, a single word making a difference. OK. But desperation will come if we don’t have the ability to implement short to mid term planning. Ideally it needs to start next season.

    Reds 2021

TSR I basically agree with you but this statement raises eyebrows. JOC (James O'Connor) is great and we will do well. Nor do I think his age is an issue. But yes 10 is critical. We desperately need the next gen 10s fighting for the 22 jumper and gaining exposure. I do think this is a big issue. It was happening...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So from recollection they want funding in the first year but claim they will be above board thereafter? Has this been validated and where will the funds come from. What if they don’t break even? What about Drua?

Players ditching Piccone? Good. Time for Qld rugby to move on. Leave the grub(s) behind. We have rugby to play, it doesn't need these guys.

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

^^^ EDIT: Oops. Major cross over here by myself between Super and RC. Ulrich, as you were, nothing to see here, agree 100%. @Ulrich - there is certainly some shrill floating around but the chill is developing. Working cooperatively together requires two willing partners and perhaps we are...

    Global Rapid Rugby

Agree on the media beat up - NZRU trying to show something practical coming out of the ill-considered EOI process. And Force/GRR able to show they are being taken seriously by the world’s most respected (till recently) rugby nation. Australian “ best interests” have done little for WA so...

    Global Rapid Rugby

No regrets from WA and why would they? If this happens I’m definitely continuing my support for Force (straight after Reds). Twiggy doing Twiggy and keeping options open. My preference though, is for Force and RA to resolve and continue working toward something sensible under the RA umbrella...
