Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

understand your thinking and have to agree that Hamish has plugged the leaks and the public discontent. There is little point my reiterating further thoughts.

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

Absolutely, but a lower bar has rarely been set. For me the interim CEO must go. He is either implicated in the Clyne decisions or lacked the temerity to stand up to it. Either way that history is not over till the slaps his arse on the way out. McClennan has been surprising and so far I like...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

selected extracts: Something tells me it might be time for the movers and shakers at NZR HQ to enrol themselves in a course: Diplomacy for beginners. It would be a good starting point. > The first is this leaves New Zealand fully committed to trans-Tasman Super Rugby. That means they had...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Thanks to Blue on "Aussie bubble" SPOTLIGHT: New Zealand Rugby have reportedly been caught in a web of lies as the truth around the Rugby Championship schedule surfaces. https://rugby365.com/countries/argentina/report-bizarre-twist-in-nzs-scheduling-row/

    Where to for Super Rugby?

RA were openly stating they were conferring with all stakeholders, something NZR have not. But it doesn't matter whether or not you accept it - read the SARU presser. RA is not on their "disappointed list" but NZR sure as hell are.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I don’t think that is offer by anyone. But to your thrust - it is most definitely time to move on. Rinse and flush.

    Wallabies 2020

Finally I have a glimpse of where you are coming from. I don’t think Simone is a huge leap ahead of Stewart. He may get time but not starting in a Bled’. And with back bench spots numbered, I’d place game time for a possible future 10 as more important than a future 12. With To'omua and JOC (James O'Connor)...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Thinking through our distrust of NZRU - the generic thinking of a post domestic comp “Super” champions league as a TT should be jettisoned. The same suggestion should be proposed to Japan. NZ is a distraction below international level.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Yes NZRU left SARU hanging. And not only them. SANZAR competition management has seen all the major players behaving like self serving narsacistic dickheads at various times - RA and SARU included. Right now though? It is all NZRU. Not friends you can trust.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Seems harsh on Free State. Again. Kings inevitably ending up where most ANC PR stunts do. It is going to be interesting seeing how European teams deal with RSA summer. Great broadcast time slots though. Sad to see RSA go, has felt inevitable for some time but they have been great contributors...

No. Let’s see what Rennie does.

    Wallabies 2020

The answer is in your question. Also there is a difference between ready for international tests and ready for the ABs. It is going to be interesting to see Rennie views on these questions, looking forward to it. Of course if Rennie thinks the guy is ready, he will pick him.

    Wallabies 2020

JOC (James O'Connor) plays deep or flat depending on the position on the field and what the Reds are setting up. When he is flat he is very flat. It is a coached attack strategy not a capability issue. I don’t think that To'omua is much different. We definitely need to be blooding whoever is (currently...

I definitely like Hodge at full back and for his versatility. It you mount a very good argument and if back line flexibility is Inherent in the selections then a big chunk of the logic to include Hodge is gone. He’d still be my 15 but the argument for him is weakened.

    Wallabies 2020

Completely agree. Hodge would be my 15. At any rate his versatility makes him a sensible choice in the 23.

Both JOC (James O'Connor) and To'omua are. There may be some disagreement but for me ditto Hodge.

    Reds 2020

We are skeptical on this posters claims re Thorn so we should also be skeptical about his claims re Carter. It again smacks of poor (or self obsessed) player management getting hold of a talent promising the world then bitching by the same manager (or someone close to the manager) when they fall...

    Wallabies 2020

As much as it complicates back row selections and development of new blood, Hooper has been selected as Captain by Linc, Cheika and Rennie. It is an awesome achievement and puts him as one of our top captains. All the best Hoops.
