Yeah - agree. And I am not actually sure the Ruan Smith will jump him in the pecking order anytime soon. Fa’agase has been a very consistent performer. You never know what is around the corner. 1 injury and he might be back starting.

Super Rugby Round 4, 2018 - Jaguares vs Waratahs @ Buenos Aires

Nice try by the Tahs. There were some tough passes to make in that one.

    Reds 2018

That seems to me to be the thing though - Fa’agase is a good quality prop who should be looking for an opportunity to start. If he is behind Slipper & Thor he will still be getting regular game time and have the opportunity to press for a start. But if he starts getting rotated out of the squad...

Whoever else missed out Koriobete needs to start.

    Reds v Bulls: Round 4 - Suncorp

Creative ability means heaps. Super rugby defences are way too good to bash down. Sure - it helps if every player can catch and pass, but not every player reads a game intrinsically or read a defender on the run. Having a couple of players who can mix up their passkng and kicking options so...

Reds vs Brumbies, Lang Park, 2nd March 2018 @ 7:00pm AEST

Alexander shouldn’t be discounted. His issues at Test level have been well covered but he has always been a reliable performer at super rugby level and will have a strong pack behind him. He also has a wealth of experience on his side.

Australian Rugby Union (ARU) - Positivity Thread

Waratahjesus posting on here again is a positive. Welcome back. From my point of view there are lots of wonderful things still happening in rugby. In CQ we will see the return of women’s rugby this year - based primarily around 7s, and the first ever school girls rugby 7s weekly competition. At...

    Reds 2018

I’m no expert on this, but $600 fine and no chance conviction seems to suggest to me it wasn’t coming considered a very serious offence. Not to say that it is acceptable but my concern is whether there are sufficient grounds to sack him re breaching code of conduct. Might be a lot of money...

You may we’ll be right Liquor Box - but I am hoping Thorn’s influence on Kerevi will be to make him a reliable defender and lift his game to another level. Edit: hopefully without having to drop him

    Super Round 2, 2018 - Rebels V Reds @ AAMI Park

I believe the Rebels believe they are well served between Debreczeni, Maddocks, Hodge and McGregor. Whether it proves to be right or wrong time will tell (describing them all as quality 10s would certainly seem teneous) - but I do think that, from an Australian rugby point of view having those 4...

    Karmichael Hunt Stuff

In cases like this I have got to the point where I almost hope they are guilty. If they are, then they’ll hopefully get what they deserve and we can move on. But if they’re innocent - well it appears they’ll largely be assumed guilty anyway (which may or may not be fair enough - but the...

Thorn essentially cut Cooper before he knew for sure that Melbourne would release Lance. I assume when he did he was to gambling on whether he’d pick up a starting 10. If be pretty sure Stewart will be the starting 10.

    Sydney 7's: 26-28 January

That was fantastic. Two great team efforts. Defence fantastic. Both teams have some very promising youngsters in their ranks.

My first inclination is to want Paia’aua to stay at 12. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Paia’aua at 15 with Kerevi at 12 & CFS at 13. Kerevi has a range of things to work on in his game - whether at 12 or 13 - but there aren’t many players in Australian rugby with more upside potential. I expect...

    Reds 2018

Exactly. There had been plenty of talent at the Reds over the last 5 yrs, but there has also been a distinct lack of discipline, structure and application. Why have these problems persisted unabated - I don’t know. But it has consistently cost us games.

    Reds 2018

I’m a big fan, but Duncan is still a very young guy who has had one pretty good year. He is neither a seasoned player nor a proven performer over an extended period. I’m happy to let him concentrate on backing up/improving on last year.
