You know what - right now I am happy to leave it in Thorn’s apparently quite capable hands.

I read it slightly different on one viewing and thought Daugunu should have been a touch deeper in support, which would have put him in space from my recollection. But maybe I need to view again. Even so, I am a bit surprised at the level of derision Nabauli is attracting lately. He is not...

I didn’t think so. The commentators criticised his pass to Daugunu - but I though Nabuli was a bit isolated if he didn’t pass. He seems to be having trouble getting through the line, and got stepped on the chase once or twice but I didn’t think he played particularly badly.

I didn’t think Nabuli was as poor as everyone else on here seems to have, however I think it’ll be a pretty easy decision when Perese comes back.

The teams they have beaten either need to improve a lot or they won’t be there at the business end. However, the Reds are winning games built in very solid foundations in defence and high levels of tenancity & effort. They are not giving silly penalties. They are working very hard off the ball...

I would like to see 8. Timu & 6. Higgers and I would be tempted to play a 6 forward bench and keep ASY (Angus Scott-Young) & Wright to come on late.

I think it is great pity that Thorn and Cooper evidently couldn’t work together. At his best Cooper was a master at bringing out the best in players around him and, ironically this seems to be an environment that the earlier QC (Quade Cooper) would have thrived in. Thorn deserves credit for having the belief...

Or maybe an easy one. Talking of good performances - how good is it to see CFS & Toua - two very hyped young blokes who have never really been able to live up to the wraps, both delivering at this level.

Holy Shit that was good. Steal a line out, smash a scrum, pull a great first phase set play and then draw and pass to put your winger in.

Douglas has been one of our best the last two weeks. Maybe he needs to take someone’s legs out or do a tip tackle so people notice him.

Very keen to see Ready play. I think both BPA & Mafi have been very good & Mafi is unlucky to be left out, but I thought Ready looked back to his best I the NRC and was looking a player who could challenge to be a Wallaby (NRC can be deceptive, I know). Hope he has a belter.

Looking forward to seeing how the Reds handle this one. I agree with the comments above that the attributes of the team and the style they are playing may well turn out to match up well against the Jaguares. But it is an away game and the opposition is in form whilst the Reds, although ticking a...

Douglas isn’t a low impact lock. His form has been shit for a few years and he has struggled with meaningful work rate & accuracy but his last two games have shown what he brings to the table in form. He has consistently led the defence line, tackled strongly and cleaned out strongly. He needs...

    Reds v Bulls: Round 4 - Suncorp

It didn’t even work at home last year, so it is still a step forward. It seems to me that Thorn is getting the basics right. I would like to see us get more expansive over time, but considering where we have come from getting the basics right and getting more impact/effectiveness from our...

I was a bit surprised that McDermott got the back up role as well, but now that he has I’m happy enough for Thorn to give him a decent crack at it. I figure there is plenty of time for squad rotation over the course of the season, and that is before allowing for injuries. Maybe there is more to...

BR - it is my impression JP seems a much improved player now then when he was at the Brums. Would be interested on your view?
