    Crusaders v Waratahs. Christchurch.

That quote from Hickey in the Tele terrifies me. I hope its just a smokescreen, but I fear its not. We lost two finals by trying to out-Crusader the Crusaders. In both those games we only looked really good when we started to run at them in the second half. Then we were imposing our game on...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. Always wondered why rugby hasn't tried to use a rules coach for catching the high ball and kicking skills training. I'd be interested to see a good full forward or ruckman at 6. The skill of taking the ball in the air is one that they...

    Reds 2011

Photo 1: Head on the wrong side Photo 2: Ineffective tackle. I'm sure Tranquility is just letting us know that the Reds accademy coaches have some work to do. :lmao:

    Brumbies v Cheetahs, Canberra

I would have loved to have seen AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) in 13. It would have helped to evaluate the Wallaby conundrum and IMO would have given them a far stronger look for the run in.

    Crusaders v Waratahs. Christchurch.

If we can "roll the c*nts" to borrow Van's words then half the world will want to be on the Tahs. Its the Crusaders away, the toughest game in the comp. If we win our credentials are impeccable, if we lose we can probably start planning for next year. For the Tahs, this game is the pivotal game...

The run home: the comp gets serious

The Reds had to win last week in my view. They have played fabulous footy but will lose to the Bulls after the travel home, and then have to beat both Stormers and Brumbies, which I think is one bridge too far.

The run home: the comp gets serious

Great analysis Lindommer. All tables have the same top four - Bulls, Crusaders, Waratahs and Stormers. You'd have to say on performances to date these are the best teams, but there's plenty of scope for a huge slip down for all of them. This comp is way more open than it looked a few weeks ago...

Found a way to change it. Thanks for the original.

    Crusaders v Waratahs. Christchurch.

Thanks to whoever put up the Hawk icon, I spent half an hour trying to do something myself without success. Too old to handle this new technology. Not sure about the black and red colourings. The only team playing in that strip beat us twice in the final (not to mention a certain other game).

    Crusaders v Waratahs. Christchurch.

Has this thread dropped to page 2 because the Crusaders logo turns everyone off? Has anyone heard anything about who is available this week? When is the team announced?

Patty McCabe the first aloysian wallaby for over 100 years?

Can someone please explain to me in words of one syllable why this matters a stuff to anyone but a private school person keen to promote the virtues of privilege? What is the importance, except to reinforce the truth that if you want to be a wallaby you'd better go to a private school?
  12. Hawko

    Crusaders v Waratahs. Christchurch.

I like Lees table. The only thing the table doesn't factor in is the home/away advantage and the unknown variables to come (like the Tahs getting Kaplan as ref). What it shows is that the Bulls are still well out in front, which they are, and that Stormers and Crusaders have the wherewithall to...

    Chris Hickey

While we Waratahs fans are hard taskmasters and expect our team to play exceptional rugby every week, we retain a small glimmer of irrational hope that it is impossible to suppress. Hence some have become so excited by the idea that there is some small chance, however minute, that we could...

    Chris Hickey

If he comes up with the right gameplan to beat the Crusaders you might have the beginnings of a case. Until then, I'm with NTA. Even after that I'll need a lot of convincing. I've seen too much crap to be converted yet. Note that McCaffrey got 7 minutes tonight. Seven! How do you show yourself...

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

Did Weekes play in the front row week 1? If he did, I rest my case. And please don't blame the rest for not pushing.

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

Come Brumbies vs Tahs we will see how great Alexander is scrumming against a world class no. 3, assuming he plays 1. If he plays 3 then he goes up against Benny, and lately no one has gone well against Benny when he's on song. If we want a runner we'll play Alexander, if we want the best set...

    Team versus Cheetahs

Let me ask the question again. What do we do if BB has another shocker this weekend? If he does then we will have painted ourselves into a corner without successfully-tried options. The only tried options are Anese to 15 and Beale to 12 or Carter to 12 for BB. Neither fills me with joy playing...

    Team versus Cheetahs

And what do we do if BB has another howler? Still play him in the game we have to win to have a chance of getting a home semi? He is playing injured and without confidence. How bad does he have to be before he's "rested"? IMO the only reason to play him this week would be to give him one last...

    Waratahs v Cheetahs. Sydney.

Clearly Hickey is not happy with Mowen at 7 or he is not happy with McCaffrey full stop. Based on the last two games that McC made the bench for, he won't see any time this week either. I suppose its a case of desperation - looking for the young messiah in case Waugh is still out next week...

    Waratahs v Blues. Sydney.

To add to my previous post: AR's should call the throw to the lineout (straight or not straight) exclusively. The ref should be watching for infringements like barging, leaving early, off-side etc. This seems obvious to me, given where the AR stands, but doesn't seem to be the rule only the...
