    Wallabies 2020

It was an example that came to mind using an experienced player v uncapped options, no need to drill down on the technicalities of it!

    Wallabies 2020

I think to be released by overseas clubs during the test window they have to actually be selected to play don't they? I don't mind a cap of 4 but hopefully like the 'Giteau' Law the coach will only use it if deemed essential - e.g. I'd hate to see Harrison and/or Lolesio not blooded so Bernard...

    Wallabies 2020

Wayne Smith reporting today that the tinkering to the overseas player rules could be the ability to pick a certain number (2 or 3) maximum regardless of number of caps. Soon to be renamed the Second Row Rule if that is correct.

    Wallabies 2020

My understanding that White is in quarantine currently and then will be joining the Brumbies.

    2020 crowds and ratings

For sure. A large proportion of rugby supporters have/had Foxtel purely for the purpose of watching rugby. Many have now gone to the streaming versions, much more streamlined and cheaper. My guess would be at least 50%

    Waratahs 2020

The Tahs are playing the Force this week not the Rebels

    Waratahs 2020

They only announced the venues for the first 2 home games. I think they want to select the best stadiums for the next 2 based on the Covid guidance a little closer to the time.

    Wallabies 2020

    yes definitely
  9. KOB1987

    Wallabies 2020

Yes if we are taking that approach I'd rather JOC (James O'Connor) at 10 and To'omua at 12.

Geerob confirming this morning that those viewer numbers DON'T include Kayo.

    Reds 2020

    From $19 apparently

    2020 crowds and ratings

On face value I'm not wrapped with the numbers, BUT what I'm more interested in is where they go from here.

It's not really that simple though, people have become used to doing other things. Remember that the NRL was the first sport (outside horse racing) to return to our screens, and the May 28th kick off date was hyped for an age: Nine can thank Peter V’landys (the horse racing guy) for pushing hard for the return of...

    Nz domestic rugby 2020

whats the go with the Canes wearing the nearly black strip instead of the yellow one?

I think sunnyboys response will be that you're comparing a shit number with a shit number. However, I'll maintain that it's not the week 1 numbers which are relevant, it's the trajectory they take from here which is important. I think we will see a steady rise as the competition's awareness...

    2020 crowds and ratings

This week is actually the time to do it, there's a fair bit to run off: - Waratahs v Force - return of the Force for WA fans, Waratahs will be favourites for NSW supporters. - Rebels v Reds (being played in NSW) - barring the odd exception like dctarget, supporters from both sides have no...

I think you are right, RA need to throw a couple of hundred K at some mainstream advertising and see what the impact is. There is literally no downside.

Just out of curiosity, is the figure the number of boxes that were tuned in? As an example, myself, my wife and my 2 kids were watching, and my brother from Qld and his wife and 3 kids are down and came around to watch. SO there were 4 x NSW and 5 X Qld watching from one Kayo subscription in...

I think it's OK for the first game back, it's higher than the local derbies before the shutdown. Hopefully numbers will trend up, I reckon there would still be quite a few sitting on the fence waiting to see how things go before they reactivate their accounts.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So I made a mention of this on the match thread, but the new Rebels strip looks suspiciously like a hybrid Force strip - what are the chances that Twiggy gobbles up the Rebels to bring us back to 4 teams?
