Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Why not Digby? He served the wallabies and reds well IMO. Has he been poor overseas?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

As a Brumbies fan am I the only one who thinks Larkham isn't really the greatest "attack coach". I mean has the Brumbies attack really been that great since his appointment? I think the Brumbies strengths are the structures, commitment by the forwards, overall workrate, etc. but it certainly...

Cheika will probably end up picking a completely different side

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

At first I was concerned too. But I'm pencilling Fardy into 6. So that's one good jumper there. Then at 8 you got either Palu who is okay, or McCalman who is okay, or Higgers who is good. Not ideal but it's manageable.

9 Rounds In, Who's your Wallabies Captain

The way he addressees the Ref's outlines he would certainly manage the Ref well. Game management on the other hand - no evidence of that yet.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yes Arnold and Coleman are performing at super xv level. But they are still so fresh, it would be a tough call to inject them straight into Test rugby. They are a year or two away I think. If they come into the squad now I'm thinking it will be a repeat of when Jones and Douglas first played...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

I'm not buying this "if he was instructed to play that way" he would be world-class. The same year you mentioned he topped the stats at super rugby level he also flopped against the B&I Lions and was outclassed by Warburton. By all means I'm not saying he is poor but it is certainly a skill...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Nah Folau is 9/10. He's kinda slow ;)

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

True. But the same can be said of Hooper at the breakdown. Makes his tackles, hits his rucks, stats look good for turnovers but many posters failing too see the quality of his ruck involvements and turnovers.

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

I see. That makes sense. I think its obvious I would disagree as I think Pocock's running game is under rated. But on a relative basis it would certainly be very very close.

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

First off, I really enjoyed your post. Quality stuff. However I should point out regarding the above quote: Almost every Test match is heavily involved around huge amounts of pressure. It's really what sets it apart from Super Rugby. Especially those games against the likes of the AB and SA...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Pocock dominates the contact zone just as successfully as Hooper, if not better. Especially on defence. Obviously Hooper would dominate run metres and line breaks but I think once they get into contact it would be hard to say Hooper has the better of him especially when I can re-call Hooper...

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

For me, Physicality would be Number 1. At least in the forwards. The contact zone is so important and winning the collision often leads to dominance at the breakdown.

Brumbies v Rebels, Round 10 @ GIO stadium

On the bright side Lilo at 10. Fingers crossed we will see some of that 2012(?) form.

Well that certainly makes more sense.

Brumbies v Rebels, Round 10 @ GIO stadium

The link I posted from the Canberra Times also states clearly in the article "...while Henry Speight will shift into the No. 12 jersey, but will share fullback responsibilities with Robbie Coleman." what the hell is going on?

Brumbies v Rebels, Round 10 @ GIO stadium

Either way the 10,12,13 channel looks like a liability on defence given the lack of experience in combinations/position/super rugby.

Brumbies v Rebels, Round 10 @ GIO stadium

Canberra Times says is Henry at 12 and Ah Wong 13. http://www.canberratimes.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/brumbies-inject-michael-dowsett-and-move-nic-white-to-bench-20150416-1mm5p0.html

    Should have been Quade.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I agree with this. Skelton has improved in his weak areas, scrum and workrate this year. I see the most balanced combo being Skelton with Simmon/Carter. There really is no back-up to Skelton though that will offer the same balance.
