Where To For Club Rugby? The Real Third Tier.

No, that's false. With NRC they are allocated an NRC team and add to the concentration of talent that makes a bridge between Club and Super. And a place for returning WBs to tune up. If you mean that they are allocated a Club, well they are. And by definition the concentration of talent is...

Where To For Club Rugby? The Real Third Tier.

For goodness sake. I never suggested that Club rugby doesn't provide development. But you know that don't you, Adam? I am suggesting we need a development vehicle that breaches development to Club, across the gap to Super. A chasm in deed.

Where To For Club Rugby? The Real Third Tier.

How are you proposing allocating the Super talent that is not playing international? How do returning internationals needing game time get allocated? Or is it simply an inter club comp with no real contribution to: 1. development for the next season Super franchises 2. development of up and...

Where To For Club Rugby? The Real Third Tier.

I f that is the case, then it will not go slightly close to filling the role that NRC did. Doesn't mean you are not right of course.

Where To For Club Rugby? The Real Third Tier.

I don't think it works, Adam. We are looking for a comp with a step up in quality. Just extending the the same competitions crossing states is interesting - but there is no condensing into better quality teams.

What if the Marlins, or Randwick, want to extend their brand into the comp?

Super Rugby AU Qualifying Final Brumbies v Force

I guess I'm not neutral - definitely behind the Force here. It's unlikely though and Brumbies deserve favouritism. I'll be barracking for the Force all the same.

Where To For Club Rugby? The Real Third Tier.

SRU was certainly a dampener on NRC but that doesn't mean they were responsible for scrapping it. In spite their presumptions the SRU is not that powerful. NRC was unable to be supported through the virus and costs were being cut everywhere. As pro rugby returns, and funding is on the way...

    Australian Rugby and private equity

I'm uncomfortable with RA taking an equity party on the basis put forward (guaranteed income). And actually I don't think it is necessarily the right approach. Previously NSWRU arranged a licence for pro rugby in NSW with Waratahs Limited. Waratahs Ltd is where I see the opportunity for PE...

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

And yet, were we not just hearing that there is an inherent bias to the East Coast elite of NSW and Qld?

Super Rugby AU 2021 Team of the Week

Well done Slim. It's been a blast and I think the result says heaps. Even where I don't agree with it. (Especially there.)

    Waratahs 2022

Both are names highly respected in the domestic environment. Time will tell. If it happens I like that they get the opportunity. Let's hope that they make good with it.

    Waratahs 2021

Agree with the thinking, but would Darren now be seeking new employment? The issue surely starts at NSWRU.

    Rebels 2021

Hell yes. Why didn't I think of that. Rebels need a talent scout in Ballymore immediately.

Growth expectations (more than opportunities) ALWAYS factor heavily into valuations. Of anything. Investment 101.

I like it. Will SRU get behind it?

    Reds 2021

Completely, meant plenty to the fans. If there was ever a time to max out time for non first 15 players though, this was it. Bring on the final. And the TT.

Yes send, it is easy. Doesn't stopSydney having issues. So back to the nub. Sydney need to sort it's shit out. Then the game goes forward. Or Sydney does not sort it's shit out, everyone else travels forward and we'll be having the same inane conversations.

Send, you show a very Sydney-centric view of NRC. In Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Qld there was clear geographic alignment. NRC was held back by Sydney though. Time you guys sorted your shit out.

    Totally agree.
