    Where to for Super Rugby?

Hard to see them playing England and France in the current six nations window and presumably they'd still want to tour up north in Nov and host in June. Assuming they don't play through in Aug-Oct during the Pro tourney (which they might) it pretty much means shifting TRC including Bled to...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Are the SARU going to be able to continue to be part of TRC if all of their teams are playing in Europe? The international game $$$ may not quite be as important for them as it is for us but it would still be a pretty huge part of their pie.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Just financial isn't it? Seems that's been the primary factor from any interview with Clyne or Pulver I've seen. Up for debate whether the ARU will improve the game here with the $16m odd savings over 3 years (obviously less any closing costs). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Aussie Player Exodus

Anyone know how many Aussie players will be playing in the top league this season? We must be getting close to another team just there alone?

2017 TV ratings and crowd figures

Season so far (making some reasonable assumptions for a number of unreported games) Total attendance around 390,000. Average about 11,000 Reds + Tahs ave around 15,000 Brumbies around 10,000 Force around 9,000 Rebels around 8,000 (lots of assumptions around the Rebels number due to the...

39 turnovers in the final AB Lions test. (22 v 15) Whatever it was that meant a relatively decent amount of people tuned in, they weren't worried about fumbles.....

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

It's a pretty strict reading of the law, but that's what is says..... The difference in your example is the receiver of the pass was onside when the pass was made so.... Red 16 in this case was offside - in front of the last player who played the ball. He wasn't ever put onside, by a team...

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Some good debates on a few ref resources going on right now on that point QH. Under a strict reading of the law, the offside line stays with the player, not where it was last touched. Red 16 hasn't been put onside by any of the methods in the laws Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

    >In general play a player is offside if the player is in front of a team-mate who is carrying the ball, or in front of a team-mate who last played the ball. >Offside means that a player is temporarily out of the game. Such players are liable to be penalised if they take part in the game...

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

If it's accepted that 16 red played at the ball (and I don't think you could argue otherwise), The only way Poite's decision makes sense is if he thinks it was knocked back, and 16 red couldn't avoid being touched by the ball. That brings in the accidental offside

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

It's a good point - you could argue the laws don't allow for accidental offside after a knock on though (edit - if you play it). So it does make a difference Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The state governments usually make it worth the while of the teams to play in the big stadium even if they don't get big crowds. Plus they usually have associated facilities including transport (often also provided by government) which makes them where the fans want to go and where the tv...

British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Take your pick from rugby's conflicting law book TBH 11.6 Accidental offside (a) When an offside player cannot avoid being touched by the ball or by a team-mate carrying it, the player is accidentally offside. If the player’s team gains no advantage from this, play continues. If the player’s...
