    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

Burgess varies from game to game. Against the Canes his delivery was lightning and his passes were like bullets, all perfectly in front of the player.

Matfield - Love him or hate him...

Can't hate Matfield. Awesome player, one of the greats.

    My little rant (Giteau)

Barnes is perfectly good in defence at 10. No need for that swap. Perhaps it is Cooper you're thinking of?

    Tah Jerseys

It looks like a cross section of a man and his willy.

    Thankyou McKenzie

Great post Geeves. The Reds were the best Australian team for most of the year, and at times the best team in the comp. Like many I was a big critic of Link's at the Waratahs but he has really learned at lot, it seems, in France. The next Wallabies coach for sure.

Very nice post topo. I hope you're right!

    The Hickey Must go thread

Friend?!? How has friend become any sort of benchmark here? Friend is not "so good", he is inept, a far worse coach than even Hickey. The Brumbies, with as much talent as the Tahs, have wasted it even more. The Tahs play good halves of footy, sometimes excellent halves. We play good phases...

    50 metre race

Beale was a first-rate schoolboy athlete as well as being a footballing prodigy. GPS 100m champion I believe.

    And Chris Whitaker.

Waratahs v Hurricanes, SFS - Revenge of the Dell

Re: Waratahs v Hurricanes, SFS It's an Aboriginal custom. It honours the family, not the wearer.

    Criticism of Elsom

There are stats, and then there are facts. Those numbers are a convincing precis of Rocky's game. How exactly has he been playing 'poorly' as many people have claimed? Beats me.

The run home: the comp gets serious

Fans like to imagine that their team will be 'pissed off' after a loss, and therefore win the next game, but by far the more common result is a further loss. This is because rugby is a game of content, form and skill, more than emotion.

    Reds v Canes. Wellington

If the Reds players were as sad as their fans then they would not have got as far this year. The Reds are still very mathematical for the finals, even if their fate isn't in their hands. Most importantly, they need to win next week and have the Tahs win as well. The Tahs are in Sydney so that is...

    Chiefs V Waratahs, Hamilton

Re: Cheifs V Waratahs, Hamilton It's an accent, not an apostrophe. ;)

The run home: the comp gets serious

The Stormers could also win either one or none of their next two matches, against the Sharks and Bulls. They are not nearly as locked into second place as people are suggesitng.

    Chiefs V Waratahs, Hamilton

Re: Cheifs V Waratahs, Hamilton The main property Carter shares with Hynes is that his presence on the field increases the Reds' chance of winning.

    Chiefs V Waratahs, Hamilton

Re: Cheifs V Waratahs, Hamilton Barnes at 10 merely means the ball gets kicked one pass sooner. The Tahs could have Beelzebub at 12 for all the difference it would make. This is a profoundly defensive alignment, sensible perhaps if they had won last week and were defending a table position, but...
