The Springboks at the Rugby World Cup

If the Boks adopt the Stormers plan we are not going forward. There simply isn't enough points in the Stormers way of playing. Every year they look great but when it matters simply cannot score.

They can do better than that,

The Springboks at the Rugby World Cup

Pieter de Villiers tried to get he Boks to run the ball but player power ruled and put an end to that. It lasted exactly one game. It will be interesting to see if a new coach will use players like Lambie, de Jongh, Sadie and Aplon, who all have the makings of super stars. With Hougaard at 9 it...

The Springboks at the Rugby World Cup

All true. No progress since 2009 in any shape or form. But if we put the top 22 on the park, fit and determined we will be hard to beat no matter what. But I think if you had to squeeze an honest answer from most fans they would have doubts about our chances. Doesn't mean I won't be yelling...

RWC 2011 - It only hurts when I laugh

Actually based on Botha's lack form this year I think it's a lot better for us...

Looks like Matfield will be fine. He trained separately. Danie will step up to cover Bakkies. Botha sounds more serious.

South Africa v Wales match thread

Matfield sounds precautionary and will play. Botha sounds dodgy. I am sure that hammie is a result of his ongoing back issues. Danie Rossouw will step up.

South Africa v Wales match thread

Yes. Against Wales we will henceforth refer to it as "Winning Rugby".

    Relevance? Subliminal maybe?

Bwahahaahahaha. Sorry. Took a moment to realise you're joking. You are....right?

Harsh. I think Lawes is a fantastic player with great potential.

Meh. But I'll take it. Makeup of the bench will be interesting. Danie and Alberts? Two props? Lambie fit enough? Ruan or Aplon? Paarl we'll just bore them to defeat.

Boring? For you maybe. Bok fans don't think so. Add the NH rugby fraternity to that. I'll be watching every game and appreciating it for what it is: A wonderful game with the same rules but played very differently by many countries. If you want to see gun slinging all day long then don't watch.

    RWC - Wallabies v Italy - 11th September 2011

Absolutely qwerty. Packs get better as a unit. Let them build on that showing. Changing anything in the 8 would be a pretty bad idea in my view. Oh and the Itays can scrum so that settles it on the Brisbane tight 5.

    Tom Donnelly now a Crusader

I think he is a perfect fit for Whitelock in Super Rugby. It allows Whitelock to play a looser game, which suits him. Donnely is more than physical enough to pick up where Thorne left off (well close enough for Super Rugby). Having said that Romano has looked good this year in the ITM so you...

South Africa v Wales match thread

At risk of sounding arrogant, I would class it a pretty big upset if Wales were to beat us, Here's why: - They have never beaten us outside of Wales, and only once in history - We beat them consistently over the last few years, often with depleted teams and on their paddock after a long season...

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

PdV gem. A bloody gem. Make sure there is help around when you read this one. John Smit is the best hooker in the world. http://www.supersport.com/rugby/springboks/news/110903/Smit_best_hooker_in_world_coach (Note how John deals with it. Kudos to a guy who sadly should not be there but...

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

Yup. We don't play rugby. We just turn up and fuck around. Always have. Push a l;title, kick a little, tackle a little. Stand around, scratch balls, talk a bit of shit. No rugby though. Wales are always desperately unlucky to lose to us. They always score more tries, play the better rugby...

That's is a perplexing decision. He had a bad run of injuries but to get through a Super season you need four good locks and I can't believe the Highlanders have four better than him. Great replacement for Thorn at the Crusaders. Onward and upwards for the buggers,
