TRC Round 1: South Africa v Australia, Sunday 21 July 1:05am AEST

Well - I disagree he had time to pull out or adjust. We’ll have to agree to disagree.

I know what you are saying UTG. Personally I didn’t think it was a yellow for the reason you’ve outlined. However, I guess my point is that people do get yellow carded without regard for how realistically they can adjust their inertia. Generally I think that World Rugby is very much in the...

TRC Round 1: South Africa v Australia, Sunday 21 July 1:05am AEST

It was a split-second late, not seconds. Tupou was already well in the motion of cleaning out and was launching into the clean. Look at the vision in the link below (sorry - best one I could find). Forget the laws of rugby for a moment and consider the laws of physics. There was no way Tupou...

Absolutely Refugee. The problems on Australian rugby go well beyond simply who the Wallabies coach is. But that doesn’t mean that they should be immune from criticism. Whilst the issues as varied and well entrenched, I firmly believe Cheika could have done a much better job than he has. Cheika...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

The saddest part about all of this is that I think we all know we are having a pointless discussion. Cheika rightly got credit and a decent amount of slack for the Wallabies overachieving at the last World Cup. Those credit points are long gone. If Australia were to win it from here I can see...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Yesterday/last night the Classic Wallabies visited Rockhampton. The day started with coaching clinics at 9 in the morning (actually the Classics did coaching sessions throughout the week) and finished in a game of the Classics vs a Local selection of past & a sprinkle of current rep players...

Cheika has said if he wins he will should be entitled to stay on. I guess it will depend on exactly how it goes down, but if he wins I will probably be inclined to reconsider my view on his coaching.

    The Rugby Championship 2019

To be fair Pocock could get called for it more too. It’s the nature of rugby - you push the envelope at the breakdown and only stop when the ref is calling against you. My issue with Latu’s selection is I can’t see how it is justified. It can’t be on game form - he’s barely played and when he...

He was apparently with 8 other players. That is a brave mugger. Would have had to be very confident he was going to get away.

    Brumbies 2019

Good player, no doubt and I’m genuinely excited to see him & Kerevi together. Whereas last time they played together they were too similar Kerevi’s game is now more rounded and TK is in very good form. I’d just like to see him get better at setting up his outside man and not dying with the ball...

Ben was an excellent defender too. Again, I’m struggling to think of a time when his size was an issue.

Does anyone know how Sam Greene is going in Japan? He always struck me as a 10 with high potential.

    Reds 2019

Lucas has already played super rugby and showed no signs his size was an issue. He could still get caught out over the longer run as plenty of ‘boom’ rookies are - but I don’t really see any sign of that from the evidence available. Whether 10 is his best spot or not, I am not sure, but that is...

    The Rugby Championship 2019

I expect Naisarani will be the 8. But Samu has a pretty strong case too IMO. With regards to Fainga’a, I think the question there is whether Cheika will back Uelese coming back from injury in the manner he has backed Dempsey in the past. I don’t disagree with your assessment of form though.

    Waratahs 2020

I don’t mind a bloke with confidence, but to mention up front that you want to win the Bledisloe back is probably something he could have left out. Good to have stretch goals I guess.

Kerevi’s almost a different player this year. His defence was much improved last year, but got better again this year. His running meters and ability to break tackles have been phenomenal for the last 3 years. But where he previously rarely passed early or kicked and his offloading game was...

I thought that the amount that the super teams could pay them was capped, barring 1-2 marquee players, with the balance coming form RA. So it shouldn’t matter who he plays for (with regards to money at least).

Like a lot of the Rebels I thought he was very good early. Dropped off badly though.

The whole static pods thing isn’t working for us either. And I think our attack last year perfectly underlined the old, but still true - you have to earn the right to go wide.
