    South Africa tour (and squad)

I don't understand why anyone is considering dropping Beale. He was one of our best players on Saturday, he is young, has immense potential and is improving at a great rate. Let's start dropping the players who are dropping badly before we start dropping players who are playing well.

    wallabies definitly in starting side?

A Mithcell is presumably what Woodcock was grown from.

    Wallaby Injuries

Hynes to replace JOC (James O'Connor) will be a considerable improvement, at this stage of JOC (James O'Connor)'s career. I think Beale has shown enough to stay for now.

Has Woodencock been cited or not?

I think Kaplan was saying "We who controls himself controls the game," which he'd recently read, but couldn't remember where.

chiraag, one play before that (at 5:05) Beale brought down a charging Tom Donnelly, and was at the bottom of the ensuing ruck.

Has Woodencock been cited or not?

That being the case (and I agree, those are the laws) then why are referees only producing yellows for tip tackles, which the subsequent automatic suspensions indicate must actually be automatic reds?

    South Africa tour (and squad)

That's really not true. Watch it again. Beale was coming across in cover but couldn't get to Mils, high or low. There is certainly no way he could have got to Mils ankles. The reason he was coming across and not in position was that he'd just made a great head-on tackle in the last line of...

Has Woodencock been cited or not?

I've always dismissed the talk of double-standards but now I'm really starting to wonder. Doesn't the citing commissioner have access to replays? Shit - it gives these blokes free rein to do as they wish.

Wallabies v All Blacks Christchurch Sat 7 August, 2010

I think if Genia was fighting for the halfback possie then he might start playing better. I'd pull him from the first Saffa game. Put some fire in his belly.

Indeed. I'd like to gently wipe that in the face of the many Beale haters in the Australian rugby world. "Slowest international back" pfft.

Ha, I did mate. As you were. :-)

AUSTRALIAN MEDIA NOT HELPING (Including you Scarfman).

Let's not be precious, otherwise we'll become TheSilverFern! If we want G&GR to become a site for journalism, rather than just a blog with opinions, then the people who post articles and videos to the blog are fair game for robust criticism and we have to wear it. Matto has made points in...

    Wallabies team for next week?

I don't think dropping Horne from the Waratahs will do him (or the Waratahs) any good. What he really needs is to be free of injury for a while. Horne's problem is tests has been playing at the end of a backline where his insides continually run for themselves, until they run out of space...

    Wallabies team for next week?

Mortlock at 12 is the classic example of a great player who becomes completely ordinary when moved just one spot in. I can't remember how many Brumbies games I watched where Mortlock struggled to have any impact at all at 12.

    Wallabies team for next week?

The good thing about Beale, is that uniquely amongst our backs his first instinct is to set up his supports. This may not be a major feature of classical fullback play, but given we so rarely break the line at the moment then Beale injecting himself then passing (hopefully not grubbering!)...

    Wallabies team for next week?

I agree with the posters who are suggesting Turner at 13. I've just watched his club highlights reel and it's impressive stuff. Plus, along with Finger he's our strongest backline defender.
