    IRB Rankings for 2011 RWC

    Mainlander, I think your semis are off. 01. New Zealand 92.41 02. South Africa 88.45 03. Australia 86.70 04. Argentina 82.82 05. England 82.11 06. France 80.13 07. Wales 79.58 08. Ireland 77.18 QTRS designed to be 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5. So that would be: New Zealand v Ireland, South Africa v...

What about grinning, snarling, and chomping at the bit during the haka? How could you NOT like him?

    Peter Hynes

Very impressed with Hynes. Lote breaks three tackles running from the sideline to the cricket pitch. Hynes runs straight, takes good options, and delivers the ball. Is always where you want him, whether up in attack or back in defence. Full credit.

    and so onto France

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)? WTF? Give Cross the heave-ho and put AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) there. Agree that Burgess will improve against French, but people who are blaming his English performance on anything but himself are deaming. On about 10 occasions (well, 6-8 anyway) he picked the ball up in a perfectly reasonable position and...

Stephen Moore - world's best hooker

TPN shouldn't be anywhere near the football field unless coaches are prepared to get someone else to do the throwing. Which is what I'd do.

    Pom Vs Wallabies

Yes, but differently. It was extremely determined defence, but with one eye on turning defence into attack. Or at least, milking a penalty. And I noticed all the ball runners more determined to deliver quick ball than I've seen in a while. Not enough pop passes, and a few rucks where no-one...

    Pom Vs Wallabies

A few pages ago someone mentioned the game. Anyway, what I really liked was the way the Wallabies are hitting the line in attack AND defence subtly differently. Wouldn't you say? It's particularly noticeable in defence, when they sort of do a combined tackle/lying down on the wrong side that...

Didn't the Wallabies do a haka for a while? circa 1910?

Rugby boots - recommend something for a front rower...

The Blackheath boys played in the Central West division. Us backs often wore grassports. You risk breaking a toe or two but at least your studs weren't sliding around on the glasstop. Tony Greig couldn't have got his key into a few of those pitches.

    IRB Rankings for 2011 RWC

Having beaten ENG, it looks like AUS will rank ahead of 4, that is, avoid NZL until the final. So, the final issue of any importance is who we get drawn with as our 2nd tier side in the pool (realistically, the only side that could beat us in the pool stage). So, do we care who we get? 05...

We'll get PaarlBok to run a Camp StaalGraaaaad one for us. Buck naked through the barbed wire, boys.

Ireland 77.18 09. Scotland 76.76 10. Fiji 75.24 I'm really happy for the top 4 to be SH nations, just to...

    IRB Rankings for 2011 RWC

Nick, I thought whatyou thought, until it was pointed out to me that 1 must play 8 in the quarter finals. I think your observations from 2007 indicate that only the top 4 are placed into pools properly, then the draw comes into play. So - wait for December 1.
