This. Barrett's impact from the bench is superb. It would be much better then what Sopoaga could do. Barrett is such a good attacker and runner of the ball - and when the defence is tiring he will calve them up. I rate him highly. I actually think Sopoaga missed out to Carter. Carter was on...

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

I like it too... But I'd start Mitchell at fullback. It would be handy for a backup fullback to get game time and I wouldn't risk Folau. No way I'd play Moore or TPN this game - risking an injury before the RWC to one of these guys is crazy. Def start Hanson and maybe give Sio some time off...

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

The only issue I see with this game is the halves... given we do not know who the first choice combo's are, so we may see some more experimentation. Cheika might already have prefferred combo down but then whether he chooses to play them to build the combination or rest them until Fiji is...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

This is a great point. The importance of Folau and his high ball skills are vital. It is currently forcing teams to kick away from him or not to kick at all. If Falou goes down the opposition will benefit hugely.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

Pretty sure Larkham has already come out in the media and said he wouldn't risk key players against USA. However some players returning from injury are in need of game-time - Simmons, Genia, Douglas. They will start their preffered side against Fiji, or the same side they plan on playing...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Beale or Mitchell would be next in line. Maybe AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is an option too.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

No way, Folau is the number one fullback with daylight second. Not sure a coach would risk injury to a key player before a RWC just for promotional purposes. Chuck in Cooper, Beale and Speight - they will have a field day with lower opposition. There should be 2 reasons to select players for...

It was a bit of a fail. He was poor under the high ball.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

They should rest both Pocock and Hooper, no point in risking those. In fact I'd rest the entire front row, To'omua and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) too. No way could they risk playing TPN or Moore, Hanson will need to start if he's there. Douglas and Simmon need game time. McMahon at 7. Genia and Horne need game...

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

From the G&GR article on the front page: Sam Carter, David Dennis, Tetera Faulkner, James Hanson, Scott Higginbotham, James Horwill, Samu Kerevi, Christian Lealiifano, Taqele Naiyaravoro and Nic White.

Prior to the Test season I personally wouldn't have put him near a gold jersey, but give credit where credit is due, KB (Kurtley Beale) has proven he is a great impact player that's for sure. Still wouldn't start him. 2 great defensive reads don't make him a good tackler.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

To be fair, I think he's been struggling with on-and-off injuries for a while now. How many games has he actually played this year? Post injury, I think it takes a while to get your confidence back, and if your picking up minor niggling injuries on your return then that's only going to...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Now that the dust has settled I can see what Cheika is thinking. He's trying to mould Douglas into a Vickerman type lock who would pair perfectly with Simmons. I think everyone on this board, rightly so, thought this RWC was too soon to inject him and would have given him a super xv season...

He surely isn't being picked on his form in Ireland. I wonder what his stats were in the super xv 2014?

100% agree with TWAS. "Potential" is the key word in that sentence. Something that was missing in Bob Dwyer's article. It should have read: "But I've no doubt that we are more of a chance to win the World Cup with Kane Douglas playing to his perceived potential than we are with James Horwill...

Real disappointment for Fotu - he was so destructive when he got on the park. A player who could really cause a lot of damage if he could stay fit. But then again, Vaea is the future and he just got better and better last year.

I rated Smith highly it was just unfortunate that Kuridrani was slightly better, he'd be number 3 outside centre in Aus behind only AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Kuridrani - and only just. Where is he playing now and hows his form?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yes I would of had Simmons & Horwill starters with the Pooper as the strongest pack. I was surprised Mumm was ahead of Horwill based on the Rugby Championship.

He should start. Apparently he is better then what Horwill can offer and can hit rucks hard, make run metres and big hits. I haven't seen it before.... no one has. So now I'm bloody excited to see it!
