    The Rugby Club thread.

With the amount of conservative "tone it down" spin going on from Kafe and Hoiles I thought I was watching the American Fox News for a moment.

    Andy Friend Sacked!

Interesting article Bradley. I wonder if there is anything to the comments that Friend didnt want Larkham as backs coach and that CEO Fagan brought him in anyway. I'm with Friend if thats the case, you bring in someone like Larkham who has his father on the Brumbies board (if I have that...

    Andy Friend Sacked!

Exactly, and isnt Larkhams old man on the board at the Brumbies or something? Talk about conflict of interests. Having family members and/or experienced players at various levels at any club can work great but when it goes tits up watch out. Too many cliques, those not in the clique feeling...

Melbourne Rebels vs Brumbies match thread

Congrats Rebels. The Brumbies went shit in the 2nd half - absolutely disgusting. Lost my money too, now I've got another reason to hate the Brumbies.

Melbourne Rebels vs Brumbies match thread

Oh Lord, If Phibbs does another one of those stupid kicks instead of keeping the ball in hand - strike him down.

Melbourne Rebels vs Brumbies match thread

Wasn't that Phibbs that got the ball at the breakdown & McCabe that did the tackle on Vuna. Either way all good.

Melbourne Rebels vs Brumbies match thread

Git's is having a good game. Brumbies waking up. McCabe is my fav so far he's absorbed some big hits.

    Highlanders vs Chiefs

Sigh of relief, I was going to back the chiefs.

    Tamworth 10's

Just a plug for Tamworth 10's. Men's and womens teams. I couldnt see a date in terms of how late you can leave it to apply but I think they are giving it plenty of time. http://www.tamworthrugby.com.au/index.php?page=tamworth-tens-carnival

NSW Country rugby union title latest

Sydney Subbies are not fielding a team against Newcastle Hunter. Newcastle Hunter have won this comp the last 3 years I believe. http://www.theherald.com.au/news/local/sport/rugby-union/newcastle-rugby-squad-suffers-trial-and-error/2083986.aspx

    Cheer Leaders

I honesty don’t mind a bit of stripper, I mean cheerleader action. But unlike brothels, strip joints, porn mags & internet porno, cheerleading is done in a public arena in front of kids (if I can be serious for one moment). The only way it could work is if all Rugby grounds hand out blind...

    Waverley Women's Rugby

Tough luck Hodgo but it's probably safe to rest and make sure your 100% good to go. Good to hear your girls are stringing together some good results. Good luck with your groin.

    Waverley Women's Rugby

Hello Hodgo I was at the Crescent head sevens with my team Newcastle uni, we beat sunnybank in the final so we were pretty happy with that. I had a chat with the Waverley girls, it looks like your going to be playing Rugby with a really nice group of girls. Dont forget to mention in your...

    Thanks for the info.

    Rugby Sevens

I agree with a half way solution between 15s and 7s I have really enjoyed playing in 10s comps when they are avaiable but I think 7s with it's olympic connection has got a good foot hold now and thats the pony to bet on. I can see the value in 9s or 10s though we use 10's rugby for the school...

    Commonwealth Games Rugby 7s

Fair enough, point taken. Being a backrower I love forward engagements myself.
  19. AngrySeahorse

    Commonwealth Games Rugby 7s

The only people who dont see the value of sevens come from major cities like Sydney where the rugby pathway is in their own backyard, not regional/rural areas. A sevens comp in Australia is the next best thing to the ARC in terms of reaching out to areas where what school you went to doesnt mean...
