    World Player of the Year?

AWJ with a retirement announcement to go with it? (Or has he already made an announcement?). IMO he is not a shadow of his best and would not deserve the award on what I've seen of him this year, but as recognition of a lengthy career at the top, he just might get it above those other...

RWC 2019 Final: England v South Africa

Not in my world. 4.5/1 and 9/2 exactly the same whenever I used to bet. (Not for a very long time now).

    Wallaby Coach Conga Line

https://www.rugby.com.au/news/2019/10/31/wallabies-new-zealand-coach-rennie So, Dave Rennie has been approached to be a candidate for the vacant ABs head coach position. With a decision apparently not being made until the new year, looks like we'll be some time off a decision for the Wallabies...

    Wallabies 2020

I know I come in for a whole lot of shit from certain quarters for many of my comments on Tahs players. But, I would remind the critics that not so long ago, the Tahs held a very favourable position with our so-called national coach. I think 3 Tahs in the team is probably close to the right...

    Expanded Rugby Championship

I reckon I could live with one game only against the other 5 nations, but I'd really like to see the Bledisloe separated from TRC and comprise one game only with the winner taking all (the Cup).

At a time when we have the likes of Valetini, Samu, Dempsey, Wright, Wilson and Leota all vying for the same spots, and all of whom have the necessary physique and ability to use it now, I cannot see where Ned Hanigan fits in.

To be clear, I am not suggesting the Wallabies coaching staff should take one of our present locks and make him into another Itoje. I am saying that an Itoje style of player is probably what's required to partner with Rodda in the Wallabies second row. That comes down to talent spotting and team...

Maybe right BH but not unheard of. Have a look at Rassie after only 16 months with the Bokke.

Not so sure FP. The Super Rugby coaches will develop players the way they want them to fit into the Super Rugby team's style of play. If that means eg, Kerevi doesn't pass the ball because Thorn wants him to batter it up the middle over the gain line, then that's how he will play. If the Wallaby coach wants a No...

Willi got pinged last night too.

I'm not sure Sorovi will get the game time to become a genuine contender for the Wallabies. And, in any case, I have a suspicion we have already seen his ceiling, which is pretty much as a backup at Super level. A couple of years ago, many people including me, had Jake Gordon as the next...

    Western Force 2020

Would Jack McGregor be a possible No 10? I thought he was earmarked for a No 10 spot back when he played U20s.

RWC 2019 SF2: SA vs Wales

In a game mostly bereft of anything resembling attack, PSDT was immense in defense. It will be a good match up next week against Itoje. At this stage, I am leaning towards England to win with a superior game plan and better coaches preparing the team.

    Wallabies 2020

I have never been a fan of Itoje. But last night he gave a master class in lock play. Great energy, skill and the pace of a backrower. By comparison, both Whitelock and Retallick looked like left overs from a bye-gone era. I wonder if he is indicative the future for locks. The necessary lineout...

Adam, you do realise that White won't be here next year don't you - I've posted that little tidbit of info at least 4 or 5 times over the past couple of weeks. Joe will be the starting No 9 next year for the Brumbies. It will be up to Fines (possible) or Lonergan (unlikely) to displace him...

    Wallabies 2020

I have mentioned elsewhere that I think Nic Scrivener wanted a goal kicker to start. Wrong option imo. Nic White was brought back to Aus by Cheika and RA. He had signed for the Wallabies some time ago and had then to find a Super Rugby side to sign with. I can imagine the pressure RA would have been...

Glad to hear it. I don't think you are necessarily typical of other negative posters towards Joe, though. There have been posts alluding to his hair, one not far above in this thread.

White cannot be ranked No 1 until he arrives and plays in 2021. I cannot see Ryan overtaking Joe in any circumstances. IMO he only started in some NRC games because Nic Scvrivener wanted a goal kicker on to take penalty goal shots. I think, in the context of the NRC, that was the wrong way to...

    RWC 2019 SF1: New Zealand v England

I even thought it should have been a penalty for offside play. I can see an argument though that it was unintentional and hence a scrum, but I thought it was deliberately played by the player in front. It was a very good camera shot in any case.

Joe's box kicking is at least as good as any other No 9 in the country. He gets a lot of height and is very accurate when wanting to find the touch line. He actually has quite a long boot on him also when just kicking for territory. What makes him a favourite with me, is his quick service to...
