Australia A v Japan XV matches

Yeap. A two year secondment to Europe between the ages of 20-24 should be built into every contract. Super Rugby clubs to set up partnerships with Top 14 clubs. Something like that, anyway. Edit: will never happen, I know.

    Please dont say 'learnings'.

It's phonetic so it's actually pretty easy. Just sound it out.

Credit where it's due. I was rolling my eyes at Donaldson's first half performance because I really haven't rated him much in the past. But he was great in that second half. That kick through following the break was brilliant. The exact kind of break the Wallabies absolutely never capitalise on.

Got a little of Kellaway about him. Another bloke I'd pick over Wright (moving Kellaway to 14).

Missed it - what did he do?

I dont think it's done anything of the kind. This is very close to Japan's first team playing a group that have barely met. Edit: And Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) will take Wright's spot - if not on the EOYT then after another full Super Rugby season. A much better player.

    Dont think he knows.

I do wonder if there is anyone around to teach him how to use a little footwork.

the South African model, which seems to be reaping some dividends, is to do the latter.

Yeah would like him to see him in the squad. Is he injured?

Sadly I'm getting married in 6 weeks otherwise definitely dive on that grenade.

I dont think there is any Australian 6 that can address that issue outside Leota. Wilson runs real hard but he picks out two set defenders each time. Might as well pick a 6 who brings some other skills to the table.

He was fine in both games. The problem wasn't Hanigan per se. It was that Waratahs don't have any full sized locks and a relatively small front row. I wouldn't say he was excellent though. Think his discipline was still an issue.

I know the reasons but it just feels wrong that he could turn out for France, along the same lines as Dempsey and Scroteland.

Happy not to see Hardwick. He goes hard but is a very unintelligent player.

None of you want to hear this but given the inconsistency of performance from 6 I think Ned Hanigan is a few strong performances away from a call up. I actually think he's the most likely of the team (excluding those already regular members of the Wallabies squad).
