    Wallabies 2020

Some thoughts on the 10/12/13 spots in the Wallabies. Funny thing, before the season commenced, there were quite a few fans talking up the chances on either Lucas or Harrison filling the Wallaby No 10 spot. But reality has set in and neither is a certain starter at Super level. Lolesio on the...

Could do a lot worse than Fergus Lee-Warner. Don't know what his contract situation with the Force is though.

On Louwrens, is eligibility once earned something that can be removed? Or is it then constant? If the latter, I'm sure Ryan has resided in the country for a period in excess of 3 years. Why should an immigrant person be denied the opportunity to represent his adopted country?

Molman, I recall Donaldson playing 10 in the NRC and Harrison at 15 more often. Am I mistaken? Also, for your elucidation, the opposition was the Brumbies Runners, not the Rebels.

Super Rugby Round 4: Rebels v Shorks, Ballarat

I agree about the errors made by the Rebels RN. But two outstanding errors by the Ref resulted in two tries, 14 points, to the Sharks. In what world is that acceptable and why should we absolve the refs of their errors because one of the sides wasn't as good as the other?

Super Rugby Round 4: Rebels v Shorks, Ballarat

But that doesn't excuse the very poor decision of the ref on the field. In that situation he really should not have assumed the ball had been placed on or over the try line. The player was caught short of the line and there was no reason to expect that he had reached out to the line. His...

Chiefs v Brumbies, Rnd 4, FMG Stadium Feb 22 17:05

Early in the game the Chiefs gave away as many penalties in a row as the Brumbies, mostly in the red zone, but not even a suggestion of a team yellow. Inconsistency will kill the game. EDIT : My take on the matter is that the Brumbies managed to score a couple of tries as a result of the...

DMac was really gun shy tonight.

D I admit I haven't been entirely on the bandwagon. Thought he was a better 12 than 10. But he is having a blinder so far, as is another of my usual targets for criticism, Will Miller. Has been enormous and in the first half has outplayed Cane.

Agree. And Cruden did it again later in the half. Even more cynical than an attempted intercept imo.

Apparently all players had the vaccine Pfitzy, but also apparently the vaccine becomes less effective after 15 - 20 years.

Super Rugby Round 4: Rebels v Shorks, Ballarat

Players have a right, or at least an excuse in the heat of a game, to make errors. Referees and Video officials have no excuse. They are paid to get it right and have the benefit of tv coverage to review their decisions. A less than competent exhibition by a ref or other official can have a lot...

Super Rugby Round 4: Rebels v Shorks, Ballarat

Just to compound the error of Mpimpe's short try, in the lead up a tackle occurred about 5m out with a Rebels player over the ball, on his feet. Sharks No 7 in from the side, and I mean 90 degrees to the side to clean out the Rebel. No penalty. Very next tackle/ruck, two Sharks players...

Shoulder charge (no arms in the tackle) by Bosch. Should have been penalised at least but play on probably ruled because Bosch came off the worse in the collision.

    Waratahs 2020

Just much too good for a disappointing Runners side. Aggressive defense and work at the breakdown, dominant set piece; so un-Tahs like.

    Brumbies 2020

Tahs A side well on top. 28 - 0 at half time. They are dominant at set piece, at the breakdown and have better handling and attacking skills. The only part of the game where the Runners are at least competitive is in defense, but even there they are not getting off the line with any urgency...

Anyone else having problems with the live stream? Precisely why streaming is not yet a viable alternative to live TV. The only action since about the 5th minute has been the clock continuing to tick over.
