    Highlanders v Rebels, RD 5 - 28th Feb

Matt Philip had a massive game. Won't disappoint if he gets a Wallaby spot later in the year.

Super Rugby Round 5: Waratahs vs Lions - Friday 28 February 2020 Super Rugby @ BankWest Stadium 7:15pm

Tahs still have an issue with their maul defense. While other areas showed good improvement, they were really at 6s and 7s trying to stop the maul.

Wilson, last thing I want to see is McKellar moving on from the Brumbies in the next 2 or 3 years. But if a team was looking for a specialist coach covering the maul, then Dan is the Man.

Super Rugby Round 5: Waratahs vs Lions - Friday 28 February 2020 Super Rugby @ BankWest Stadium 7:15pm

Well done Tahs. Played good, but Lions were rubbish. Never threatened the defensive line at all. Harrison had a much better game; HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) coming into form; Bell very impressive in open play. That was enough to put the Lions away.

LRR doesn't look like an absolute flop with the Shorks this year.

    Highlanders v Rebels, RD 5 - 28th Feb

Good in the air but other skills mostly not sighted. Positioning in defense really atrocious.

Molman, I'm not disagreeing with your comments about the respective strengths of the Tahs A and the Runners, but I am getting the impression from a couple of your posts that you think the Tahs A side has played two games, one against the Rebels A, while the Runners have played only one. I may...

So much for SAZAAR's much hyped meritocracy. A few others are probably not far advanced on Egon.

    Reds v Sharks, Rnd 5 2020, Lang Park Sat 29 7:15 EDST

I thought it had been reported a couple of weeks ago that JOC (James O'Connor) had some sort of minor injury/niggle that could be exacerbated by goal kicking. Could be wrong of course.

    Un-Australian Activities 2020

Nic Mayhew was starting to look quality when he left the Brumbies to return to NZ. Will be of interest to see how he's going right now.

Apart from Simone's obvious omission, I also think Maddocks will come back into contention as the hybrid wing/fullback, especially if he can force his move to his rightful spot of fullback at the Tahs. On the flip side for the Tahs players, any of Hockings, Blyth or Swain would be my pick over...

    Brumbies 2020

Wonder if there's a way for bye rounds later on to be utilised to replay the game? Would probably need to include at least one other team in rescheduling to allow the Sunwolves and Brumbies to be free on the same weekend. Otherwise, would it be possible to play for double points in the...

    Brumbies 2020

The visit to Japan to play the Sunwolves must be looking very unlikely due to the coronavirus outbreak worsening. Reports coming out about socvcer games being canceled and even doubts about the Olympics, at least as far as teams setting up there prior to the Games starting. I certainly...

Barb, I don't have his respective weight figures over the past few years, but to me Valetini 2020 looks just the same as he did in 2018. His standout influence on a game imo was always his hard hitting defense. It was then and is now. He just doesn't get injured as frequently as he did a couple...

    Wallabies 2020

I am not picking Lolesio as a Wallaby just yet, but he certainly outplayed Cruden on the weekend. Of course, after being bashed for years by people with agendas about how a 9 or 10 is no good if they play behind a dominant pack, his game against the Chiefs must be seen as an outlier and unlikely...

    Wallabies 2020

I do like the look of Paisami. A lot like Kata at the Brumbies, but both very inexperienced at the moment. If the call for Paisami to be a Wallaby isn't quite the current rage, then there have been a lot of posts suggesting he will, or has, replaced Petaia at 13 for the Reds. Given Petaia is...

Chiefs v Brumbies, Rnd 4, FMG Stadium Feb 22 17:05

Great game by the Brumbies in adverse situation with illness and late injuries. Pity they didn't hold on the a bonus point win. However, I think a close look at the scrum leading to the Chiefs' second try would have pinged the No 8 for picking the ball up in the scrum. He had the ball in hand...
