Eric Spilsted Shield (Colts Club Championship) Watch: The Gallopers maintain a lead of more than 1 round of maximum points on The Corporation and it should prove to be unassailable. In turn, the Corporation has established a lead of more than a rounds maximum points over the Shoremen in third...

Ranfurly Shield, ITM Cup & Heartland Championship: NZ domestic comps 2015

Doing a U-Turn in a bus on that road would be an exercise in precision driving. Those familiar with Shute Shield rugby in Sydney may remember Rohan Saifoloi (former Southern Districts) who is listed in the Tasman Makos team. Another Mako is former Randwick player, Peter Samu...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2015

The Under 16 National Championships only offers 46 Sydney Rugby players pathway development that is not currently on offer. This number assumes that no players from NSW country will be in the NSW Schools team. How is that going to help SJRU? Go back through the archives to see how much...

Ranfurly Shield, ITM Cup & Heartland Championship: NZ domestic comps 2015

Any Aussies in ITM Cup this year? With NRC now up and running, I'd anticipate that there are less crossing the Tasman for ITM Cup experiences than there were before NRC kicked off.

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2015

It could simply have been that the parents of those three young fellows approached Easts and asked the District Club Junior President if there was any way that their kids could get a gig at JSC. The good folk at Easts may then have approached Randwick, Souths, & possibly Wests or Norths to see...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Too many <Waratahs/Reds/Brumbies/Foreign based players>* and not enough <Force/Reds/Rebels/Brumbies/Foreign based Players/Waratahs>* Universal rant to save others time and effort. *delete one or more as required.

    The League Media

You think our Loig Media is bad, how about this from US ESPN Media? A blend of rugby and mugging someone... ... ... indeed. Record TV Rights deal in Vic, SA, WA and Tas. Whatever rocks your boat. International credability. Collingworth ? Gold Cust Suns? "I don't know what a ripper is...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2015

There are enough sharp lawyers around here. Could it be possibly argued that the AAGPS Rugby competition is a "long term school event" during "the Regular Season Matches", and thus a phantom player could qualify for a dispensation to play in SJRU Finals under under SJRU rule 7.3(D)iii?

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

Most of NZ is within 5 or 6 hours drive of Auckland. Plenty of folk here do that to watch their sons play Colts or School footy in Sydney. Some country folk would do close to that just to play a regular club game. AAGPS 3rd XV travel to Armidale for a regular fixture. ISA schools travel...

NSW JRU State Championships & Representative Teams 2015

Then that ruling ("has indicated an intention of playing 4 games at some stage this season") should be enshrined in the next iteration of the rules. I guess that they have to commit to playing 5 games if they want to make Sydney JRU reps and 6 games if they want to try out for the NSW JRU team...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Would IRB (World Rugby) stump up for some form of subsidy for tours of the PI countries? There are enough players of PI heritage running around in Professional Rugby in Europe, Japan, Sri Lanka (not mentioning Australia and NZ) providing entertainment for millions of spectators and Pay TV...

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

Are the Septics so good at sports journalism? They seem to have wrapped up how pointless AFL is as a sport outside Vic, SA, WA and Tas. Doesn't matter how big the TV deal may be in Australia, it is still seen as a blend of Rugby and mugging someone, right up there with Roller Derby.
