Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

Good call @Happy to Chat. I had QLD 9 in my notes but when compiling the report I simply looked at the wrong team in the programme to get the players name. The article should refer to Lenac. I am sure that the post will be edited soon.

^^ Many do, and it is chaps like them that keep that joint open.

Are they sensitive folk in the Shire? Hobbits saved Middle Earth from evil forces from Mordor. Is that a bad thing? The Rebels are an outlaw motorcycle club. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebels_Motorcycle_Club Would you want to be associated with them or some peace loving folk that are...

    Shute Shield 2015

You said that the first time I posted the kilometres, and yes @Blindsider said "that wishful thinking of a parra/penrith merge just doesn't seem to want to happen. " AFAIK no one in officaldom has done so, thus far. That must be a good sign, although going on past history, the goof Burgers at...

    Shute Shield 2015

Parramatta move to the Hills has been discussed a page or two back. Not gonna happen. Talk of Parramatta merging with Penrith isn't wishful thinking. It is a complete ignorance of geographical realities so often found in folk from the East and lower North Shore. It would achieve the same...

2015 Super XV Final Hurricanes v Highlanders

Amazing that a coach who was in charge Wellington ITM Cup team in 2014, who were the first NZ Tier 1 provincial powerhouse team to be relegated to bottom division of ITM Cup, takes the Hurricanes to a Grand Final in his first year in the new job.

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

Kids change schools for all sorts of reasons. How this happens, why this happens, and who is helping to influence the decision to change are not for discussion. It usually ends in tears. We have a purpose built thread for that purpose. Please use it. No problem with noting that a player...

^^^ Pretty sure it was two (Wainwright and A.N Other). Maybe four max.

Where is the ball? Either my eyes are crook, or that is one doozy of a parabolic lob that Craig has tossed in to his jumper. How did the young fellow go in Grade? On what I've seen of him so far, I'd expect he would have been very comfortable playing Grade footy, even though playing in a game...

    Shute Shield 2015

Promoting Balmain may remove the 100+ thrashings from Shute Shield competition but one wonders how sustainable that will be, and what would that do for the growth and expansion (or prevention of further contraction) of the game. Sydney extends to the base of the Blue Mountains, not the M7...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

And it was a quality rant and honest analysis and appraisal too. Schoolboy footy is cyclical. Possible Smokies: WA: Jooste. Vic: Leota, Clarken. Coward (15) plays an exciting and unpredictable form of attack but when caught (and he will be by the NZers) he will get rag dolled. He could...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

The referees at the tournament are top notch. They can only adjudicate on what the players do. If players continually infringe, the Referee will continually blow. With so many ruck infringements from NSW I, I was surprised that the main repeat offender wasn't shown a Yellow Card.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

You are correct. Very impressive performance by Q1 to not concede a point in the Pool Matches, and then even more impressive when they go on to not score any points in the final. :) Both the NSW II and QLD II teams have done their respective 1st XV no favours in their attack asking serious...

^^^ That may explain his acceleration. From memory I think he was THP, with O'Toole at LHP.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

^^^^ It wasn't pretty from a WA perspective. My thoughts on today. NSW I: Daylight will be second. The bench started and there was no drop in quality of execution. Plenty of penalties for breakdown offences but who cares when you steal 50% of opposition lineouts. QLD I: Went off the boil at...

    Stormers v Brumbies Qualifier

Is that why so many half backs fire out their bullet passes so high over the five eighth's head that they have to jump to get the ball? I just thought that they were just inaccurate when they were spraying those balls around. The yappy cheating runt halfbacks really do it deliberately to...
