The split is still 60-40 Gatland's way IMO, but momentum has been slowly but surely building. Ireland have been stronger (in general) than Wales, particularly against Southern Opposition, WC Quarter finals notwithstanding, since even before 2013 Lions tour. Both Schmidt and Cotter have contracts...

Quietly it probably revolved around the Beale incident, all 3 of Delve, Vuna and Beale departed in 2013.

    Reds 2016

Pretty good. Missed chunks through injury, but playing fairly well, albeit in a fairly simple role. He's still wearing a bloody arm guard though, according to a handful of players, it's not nice to be fended off with.

I don't think there's anything illegal about a Salary Cap, as long as everyone pays at least minimum wage equivalent, there'd be nothing inherently illegal. The issue for the AFL is the draft. Legal precedent in Australia (think the NRL tried it and lost) suggests that the particular restraint...

    Rebels 2016

Do the previous squad rules theoretically no longer apply to us now that we've got the private investment? He's the 37th player signed, whereas previously we had a maximum of 36, 30 full timers, 5 EPS and a Japanese player. We've got 3 full non australian internationals in Hagan, Tamati and...

Sefa's worth bringing in and around the squad. NMS is proof that genuine pace, running good lines and a hella offload is so valuable at Test level, Sefa has all that. 3 of the world cup wingers are overseas come end of Super Rugby, and while Two dads and Mitchell remain eligible, with no Lions...

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 1 - DUBAI

Fundamental mistake made by the Samoans there. If you go long in 7s, you need to hit grass. Absolutely fantastic game otherwise.

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 1 - DUBAI

Robertson proving me wrong but overall pish. Good Job Samoa. No Points difference against the Russians means there's not much hope of qualification even with an upset. Always tough to be in the bottom half early in the series, the seeding format makes it difficult to drag yourself into the...

We were awful, but that was knocked dead. Ah well. Looks like a return to normal after a good season.

Only one half, but this is also on the basis of the Oceania tournament, James Stannard is reminding me of Colin Gregor last year. Might have gone one year too many.

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 1 - DUBAI

They'll be well in contention for a top 6 finish, and hence Champions Cup qualification as deep as last season. If they win one or both of the home and away ties with the Not-Nots, they'll be in pole position for a Challenge cup Quarters, looking to go one better this season. He's no Chance...

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 1 - DUBAI

A fit Hoyland is starting 15 for Edinburgh. I don't see him playing more than 1 pair of tournaments. In contrast, Blake has the makings of a very good Sevens player and is 3rd in line for the seven jersey at Glasgow, so could potentially be available for all tournaments that don't fall in the 6...

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 1 - DUBAI

If I was a gambling man, I'd say Hugh Blake, given Richie Vernon and Damien Hoyland don't look like playing many series events this season. Bit of a Jack of all trades player at 15s level. Quick but not lightning, good breakdown player, but not a turnover factory, good size without being...

    HSBC 7's 2015/16: ROUND 1 - DUBAI

Can't help but feel that Nayacavou is only in the Scotland setup because he's Fijiian. He's slow, has poor hands, no step of note, and concedes penalties on defence. If we want someone to make metres up the guts they'd be better drafting in James Eddie or Roddy Grant on a permanent basis.
