    Rebels 2016

Bastard. Not sure how the Frenchies work, but with no international allegiance and three years in the country (as he will have come September 2017) he'd be french qualified by then anyway.

    Rebels 2016

I think we'll start off with what loomed as our best 23 last year, with a small handful of changes. I.e. Harris, Shippers, Ellison, Inman, Sefa, Jack, little red, Toby, Hanson, Weeks, Timani, Jones, McMahon, Colby, Thomson, Siliva/Pat, Ah-Nau, Hagan/Metcher, Retallick, Reid, Bip, Hawkins/Hodge...

2016 Under-20 Rugby World Championships - Manchester UK

I don't think it's too unreasonable to want it to be announced at the Super Rugby launch, it's just slightly frustrating for those not quite ITK.

    Western Force - 2016

Also injured and out for the NH season.

    S18 on its way

I don't think the new one is bad. There's nothing wrong with it. I just prefer the system that rewards both sides for attacking play. A 3 tries to 0 game now awards one team a bonus point when previously there'd be no bonus points, while a 5 tries to 4 game now rewards neither.

    S18 on its way

Same as the NRC, and originally the Frenchies then. It's probably a good thing to keep the winners foot on the pedal, but it's going to deprive some losing teams of bonus points throughout the season.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 15/16

So are Strauss, Maitland, Ford, Bennett and Dickinson. My guess is that he's just named everybody he can evisage himself using at some point during the competition.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 15/16

SCOTLAND SQUAD FOR THE 2016 RBS 6 NATIONS – FORWARDS – Hooker Ross Ford (Edinburgh Rugby) – 94 caps Pat MacArthur (Glasgow Warriors) – 6 caps Stuart McInally (Edinburgh Rugby) – 2 caps Front-row Alasdair Dickinson (Edinburgh Rugby) – 52 caps Zander Fagerson (Glasgow Warriors) – uncapped Moray...

    Brumbies 2016

I think Toulon is the only one clear cut. Vermulan easily over Vaea, Pocock easily over Armitage, Class of Lobbe wins the tie breaker over Fardy, Gorgodze over Butler is the cherry on top. Anyone else is highly highly debatable.

    Brumbies 2016

Difficult to go against the Toulon trio of Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe, Steffon Armitage and Duane Vermulen IMO Brumbieman, with one Mamuka Gorgodze coming off the bench to round it off. Brumbies backrow certainly one of the best, if not the best in Super Rugby however.

    Waratahs 2016

The draw from the South African Conferences makes sense. Everyone in your own Conference home and away (for 6 games), everyone in the other local conference either home or away (for 4 games), and everyone in one of the non-local groups either home or away (for 5 games). So in a 4 year cycle...

    Brumbies 2016

He would, but there'd still be very few who wouldn't still pay him big money. He dominated the 2011 tournament, they changed the interpretations to give less leeway to the pilferer, he spent the best part of 2 years out with consecutive ACLs, had to shift positions since his best one had been...

    Reds 2016

Would imagine that if Ready gets 3 or 4 starts and a dozen appearances off the bench, plus another NRC Season, You'd be willing to gamble with just him, Moore and Mafi, letting both Finger twins go.

    Brumbies 2016

The likelihood is that everybody's had a little bit of interest in him. e.g. Toonie: "hey, Davie, howdya fancy playing for $400k a year. We play a good style." Pocock: "Doesn't it rain for like, 11 months straight? And you've got the 2nd worst crime rate per head of any UK City? And I'm...

    Ideas for NRC

Still a massive bias towards recruiting locally in terms of the youngsters it seems though.

    HSBC 7's: ROUND 3 - WELLINGTON

Is that not 3 times in a row we've had the Russians? Blimey. I know that true random selection often results in oddities like that, but it's getting a bit boring, would have preferred a go at Portugal or the Japanese. Be interesting to see who pops up. Injury crises at Glasgow means Lee Jones...

    Rugby 7s general chat

Bolt makes all his distance in the back half. The stride once he's going is absolutely ridiculous. High top speed and high acceleration are both important for Rugby, but particularly for 7s. One without the other often means getting caught early, or getting caught late, depending on which one's...

    Ideas for NRC

By Dewar boys I mean the local players, not the drop ins from the Rebels. While they're not necessarily Victorians, they play for Local Clubs Mitch Andrews- Unicorns Murray Douglas- Harlequins Maradona Farao- Quins Stacey Ili- Uni Lloyd Johansson- Quins Justin Marsters-Quins Fereti Sa'aga-...

    Ideas for NRC

You're not wrong Dave, but with the exception of props (Recruiting first Duncan Chubb and then when Tim Metcher was injured, Tom Moloney), we were already much better in 2015 compared to 2014. Aside from Placid and the starting halves, most of the backs were Dewar Boys. Plus Murray Douglas...

    Ideas for NRC

9 probably stretches the base too thin, on the basis of what we've seen. 7 I think will mean a too significant reduction in player spots for a development comp. Hence, I think the ARU should really be exploring all available Avenues to both increase the Tahs involvement and still retain 8...
