    O'Connor at 12 and McCabe at 13

If Mitchell comes back, which it sounds as though he will, and they all stay fit then I wouldn't be surprised to see JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 for the RWC. Deans did sort of say that he would most likely giving him a run in the centres before the RWC (but not for whole game). Keeping his cards close to his...

    O'Connor at 12 and McCabe at 13

I have always been an ardent Gits fan. But I finally agree that he is not the right man for the Wallaby 12 jersey and barring multiple injuries it is hard to see him having a starting role in the current setup. What Genia, Cooper, JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale need is front foot ball and fast turnover ball...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

I don't get the state bias here. It really doesn't matter how many players from each state are starting. Obviously several Prominent Waratahs are injured and their positions taken by the next best player (most Brumbies by chance). And if we did send out the Reds 22 as the Wallabies they...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

As shown in the video McCabe was very productive in a losing side against Samoa and deserves his chance. I think he offers more than Fainga'a and so too does Deans. He is also an option at 13 should Barnes return and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) not find form. One of the Reds great strengths this year was the breakdown...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

I agree it is a good thing that Gits is not there. It is about time. However, it was a tough day at the office for him behind a pack that was raped at the breakdown and with a half back that was lost at that level. So, if he is not injured it is wrong for him to shoulder all of the blame...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

That can be a good scrum. McCabe showed enough that he may be the hard running/tackling 12 we are looking for. No Samo?

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

I would like to see this team for the weekend but know there will probably not be a 5:2 split, Rocky and McCalman will start and Baxter has no chance of being selected. Deans is not one to change tack in mid stream but his selections last week were baffling. I would also say that Hodgson will...

Quade Cooper - The most important player in Australian Rugby

Our forwards were getting smashed and Phipps was taking us back further under pressure. His first movement was sideways or back and his clearance was often too slow and interrupted more than a few times. Behind the same pack Genia stood his ground at the base and moved forward first every time...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

I reckon a 5:2 split is the way to go until Burgess is fit again. Phipps is not up to the tri nations yet.

Quade Cooper - The most important player in Australian Rugby

The binding in the scrum looked very loose again. They were unable to resist the Samoan power initially. Plenty of work needs to be done there in a hurry. Foley please?

Quade Cooper - The most important player in Australian Rugby

With the forwards going backwards and Phipps struggling at the base Cooper would not have made much difference. Beale and Genia made a huge difference when they came on and it could have been a very different scoreline if JOC (James O'Connor) had taken the field in place of Rocket as originally planned.

    Deans confirmed until 2013

We have all been harping on about the depth Deans has built during his tenure and that the Wallabies win/loss ratio over the last four years is secondary. Yesterdays performance just blew that out of the water. I desperately want the Wallabies to succeed this year but that was the worst...

Where was Deans' depth yesterday? That is all he has so far.

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

The reality is that the soft underbelly that the Poms often refer to was exposed again yesterday. The Samoans were physical and had their tails up after a couple of tries against the run of play. The Wobs did not respond. It was very disappointing. There is a lot of food for thought for the...

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

Pray that Shmoo gets back in shape quickly. It was a train wreck waiting to happen today. Well done Samoa!

Pretty bad from the Wobs but not totally unexpected

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

This Wallaby side looks a little thrown together and the Samoan side slightly better than usual. JOC (James O'Connor) could have been counted on to turn on some magic for a try or two and will be missed. Should be an interesting match. Many are looking for us to be technically superior at the set piece. I...
